YouTube Description
as posted by the channelDuring an interview on Tuesday, Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy was asked about Donald Trump's chances of winning the 2024 election, and McCarthy mentioned that Trump MIGHT not be the strongest candidate running. According to Trump allies who spoke to CNN, this led to a massive backlash amongst the President's friends and advisors, and they were blowing up the phone lines to voice their anger about McCarthy's mild - but true - statement. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what happened.

So yesterday was quite a busy day for Republican House speaker Kevin McCarthy. You see, Kevin McCarthy started his day off by going on C N B C and offering what might be the most mildest form of criticism of Donald Trump I've ever seen. So mild, in fact, that I wouldn't even classify it as criticism. But here is what McCarthy said about Donald Trump and the Republican field. He said, can he win that election? Talking about the primary? Yeah, he can. The question is, is he the strongest to win the election? I don't know that answer. Can Trump beat Biden? Yeah, he can beat Biden.
So that's it. Like, is he the strongest? I don't know. Will he beat Biden? Yeah, he is gonna beat Biden. So that's not even really criticism, but Trumps people, his friends, his allies went totally cuckoo bananas after Kevin McCarthy made these statements on CNBC Tuesday morning. So according to, a report from Rolling Stone, Donald Trump's staffers down there in Mar-a-Lago, they were fielding calls all day from angry Republicans, some in Congress, expressing their anger about what Kevin McCarthy said. How dare he get out there and say that you're not the strongest? Well, he didn't say, you're not the strongest. He said, I don't know. But Trump world, mega world was in full meltdown mode ready to burn Kevin McCarthy at the Stake. So what did Kevin McCarthy do? He gave an exclusive interview to Breitbart, the right wing propaganda, trash, uh, network, where he went out there and praised Donald Trump, talked about how great he is, how he is our best hope to win the presidency.
Oh, I love Donald Trump so much. Forget about that one very stupid thing I said this morning. Ah, I hadn't had my coffee yet. You know, uh, it gets crazy. I love that man so much. And then it gets even more humiliating for Kevin McCarthy because after that flattering Breitbart interview was published, Kevin McCarthy then sent out a fundraising email that proudly proclaimed in the title, Trump is the strongest candidate we have. So in the morning he says, I don't know if he's the strongest. And by the afternoon, due to the pressure from Trump and his idiot followers, Kevin McCarthy is sending out emails saying, I love Trump so much. He is our only hope. Please give us money. What a difference a couple of hours can make folks. But it shows you how terrified these idiot Republicans are of Donald Trump, the guy who technically has no power.
He has no power, Kevin, the only thing Trump can do to you is get on truth social and be mean to you. Like, make fun of your haircut, make fun of your suit. I don't know, whatever it is, but that's all he can do. And those things don't actually matter for Republicans. But you bowed down anyway, and you were so panicked. You went crying to Breitbart, please help me out. Let me get an interview. Let me tell you how much I love him. Then you send out the email, oh, everybody in the country. I love the man so much. If I could kiss him, I would. And, that is how the cycle continues. Kevin McCarthy learned his lesson. He knows now that you can never even mildly criticize Donald Trump without sending MAGA World into full meltdown mode. But instead of standing by his statements, he coward down like a frightened little rat and then immediately fell in line.
