5:00Now PlayingFox host Maria Bartiromo didn't hold back during an interview with Florida governor and GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis over the weekend, and she asked him frankly what has happened to his campaign. She pointed out that he is losing ground in the polls as Trump's support grows, and DeSantis simply laughed it off like it was no big deal. DeSantis is quickly becoming the biggest flop that the Republicans have had in a long time, and the real reason is glaringly obvious, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Over the weekend, Ron DeSantis ran to Fox News to, you know, maybe get a little bit of positive media coverage about his failing campaign. But Fox News host Maria Bartiromo didn't wanna let him really have the opportunity to explain things away. And she basically asked him, why do you suck so bad at this? Now, that's not how she put it, but that is effectively what she was asking him. She's pointed out the fact that, hey, your polls are down, man. You're out there every day, but it's actually making things worse for you. What in God's name are you doing here? And DeSantis didn't really have an answer, but here is the exchange as it took place. Bartiromo said, what's going on with your campaign there? There was a lot of optimism about you running for president earlier in the year, but here's this weekend's headline from Politico Playbook.
What happened? And DeSantis tried to blame it on the media. You know, she brought up Politico running the headline of, you know, DeSantis campaign is in Shambles. So DeSantis followed up her question of why you suck so badly by saying, quote, Maria, these are narratives. The media does not want me to be the nominee. I, I think that's very, very clear. Why? Because they know I'll beat Biden. But even more importantly, they know I will actually deliver on all these things. Uh, we've got a long way to go. I'm looking forward to being able to participate in the debates. But this is not something that, you know, I ever expected to just snap fingers. And all of a sudden, you know, you win seven months before anything happens. You've gotta work and it requires a lot of toil and tears and sweat, and we're going to do that.
Oh, I imagine there's gonna be lots of tears, Ron, because your campaign doesn't seem to be doing any of those things that you say you're gonna do. But you can sit there and blame the media all you want. Like it's the media's narrative. It's not, man. It's actually the polls. And Maria Bartiromo, I'm gonna read that in a minute, but she did bring up like, eh, the polls show that you're losing pretty badly, bud. But here's the thing, Ron, it, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what the hell's going on with you. You go out there, you do your speeches, you appear in the media, you even talk to people face to face, which actually makes them less likely to like you afterwards. But all you do is you get out there and you say like, woke, woke, woke, woke, woke, woke, woke, woke, woke, woke, wokeness woke, goes to die.
Woke woke. You, you, you're a OneNote pony. Like you only know how to say the word woke and people are getting sick of it because it doesn't mean anything. Meanwhile, you can't talk about your so-called accomplishments down here in the state of Florida because the court system keeps dismantling them. So you don't even have those actual accomplishments that you wanna pretend that you have because they're all unconstitutional, as the courts have decided. So what do you have to talk about? What record do you have to run on as somebody that has lived in Florida a lot longer than you, by the way, I can tell you, you've done nothing. I can look at your record and see that you've done nothing. I can look around my neighborhood, my town, my office, and see that you have done nothing. That Florida continues to descend into the seventh level of hell.
You have nothing to talk about. You have nothing to run on.
