After Donald Trump announced that he was the "target" of Jack Smith's investigation, he begged Republicans in the House to do something, and Matt Gaetz delivered. Gaetz announced that he would be introducing legislation that would specifically defund Smith's investigations, which would cripple the prosecution of the former president, if passed. Donald Trump is currently begging his Republican allies in the House of Representatives to do something. Trump posted on truth social about the looming indictment regarding his attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. And the very first Republican to step up to the plate to actually do something to help Donald Trump is of course none other than my Congressman Republican representative Matt Gates. Gates announced on his podcast on Tuesday that he would, in the coming hours or days, he, you know, couldn't figure out the timeline of it, but he said that he will be introducing legislation to completely defund all of special prosecutor Jack Smith's investigations into Donald Trump. He said it will be a standalone bill and it will focus only on Jack Smith's office. So this could not be a more politically targeted piece of legislation that Matt Gaetz may or may not be bringing up in the coming days, hours, weeks, months.

Who knows? Cuz again, dude didn't give us any kind of timeline on it, but here is what he said In the coming hours, the coming days, I, I will be introducing legislation under my name in the House of Representatives as a freestanding bill to defund the Jack Smith investigation. And one reason why is the election interference feature another reason why The lack of transparency. Um, I'm gonna go ahead and argue with you on this because you're always wrong about pretty much everything. Um, the lack of transparency. I, I think Jack Smith has actually been very transparent with the indictments that he has handed down. And with the nature of this investigation, he's been as transparent as humanly possible. What more do you want? Right? I mean, I mean, that's the big question. Like he's not transparent enough. So what kind of transparency do you want to see, Matt?

Like, you can't just make these overly broad statements and then not back them up with a single thing. But that's what you do because you actually don't have a single thing to back up any of your statements. So you say stupid things and hope that nobody calls you out on 'em, but oops, we did. So there you are. The second thing, which was actually the first thing you said, the election interference. How is this election interference? These investigations have actually been going on since before Donald Trump became an official candidate. So if anything, Donald Trump's candidacy should be viewed as interference in a federal investigation, right? I mean, if we're really looking at what it is, and of course, according to all these reports where Trump's own aids are telling him that you've gotta win the election to stop the investigations, doesn't it seem like his whole candidacy is nothing more than an attempt to obstruct a federal investigation?

I mean, using your own logic here, that's the way I see it. As I mentioned, Donald Trump did put out the call on truth social do something he said to his Republican friends in Congress. He made personal phone calls according to cnn, to Kevin McCarthy and Elise Stefanik asking them to help out in any way possible. Which of course is hugely ironic considering the fact that just five days ago at the Turning Point Action Conference in Florida, Donald Trump said, I consider it a badge of honor every time I get indicted. So, which is it, buddy? Are you freaking out or are you gonna get another badge of honor?
