Republican Presidential Candidate Says Censorship Is What Caused Capitol Riot

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy told Tucker Carlson during a forum last week that the Capitol Riot wasn't actually caused by Donald Trump's election lies or his violent rhetoric. Instead, Ramaswamy says, the riot was caused by "pervasive censorship" of social media. Specifically, he says that social media outlets censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story is what caused the riot, which makes absolutely no sense no matter how you slice it. So about a week or so ago, you had multiple Republican candidates sit down with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, uh, as part of the Family Leadership Summit in Iowa. And of course, one of those people who sat with Tucker Carlson is a businessman, entrepreneur, and Republican presidential candidate, uh, Vivek Ramis Swami and Ramis Swami offered what might be the dumbest assessment I've ever heard of the events of January 6th, because according to Mr. Ramis Swami, what happened on January 6th was not because Donald Trump was spreading election lies. Those people did not storm the capitol to overturn the results of an election. Few fools, no, those people stormed the capitol because big tech censored the Hunter Biden story. Here is what this absolute had to say. What caused January 6th is pervasive censorship in this country in the lead up to January 6th.

Okay, before I continue, let me just point out the fact that that is a redundant sentence, and you don't need to add in the lead up to January 6th at the end of your sentence because you had already referenced January 6th. Thank you. You tell people in this country they cannot speak. That is when they scream, you tell them they cannot scream. That is when they tear things down. Until we look ourselves in the mirror and admit truth on that, we will not move forward as a country. So it's the pervasive censorship he says that caused people to storm the capitol. Um, what about the people, uh, chanting Hang Mike Pence? Did, did those people think that Mike Pence was censoring them on social media? I mean, what about all the uh, uh, you know, signs that these says stolen election, they had a literal stop the steal rally before they stormed the capitol. None of that matters. No. All of those people who stormed the capitol, including the ones who have gone into court and said, we did it because the election was stolen from Trump. All of that is total, right? Vivek. But those people were actually mad because Twitter wouldn't let them see pictures of Hunter Biden's penis on that social media outlet. That's what you are saying is what led these people to do this.

I'm gonna declare it right now. Vivek Ramas Swami is officially the stupidest person running for president under the Republican banner today. Dumbest there is, this is, I I, I can't even comprehend how you can twist reality so much that you say something, this painfully stupid, this obviously stupid that is so very easy to counter with the actual facts of that day, with the facts of what these defendants have said during their court cases. But we're dealing with the dumbest possible crop of Republican candidates, not just the ones running for president. Hell, the ones running the House of Representatives right now. I have never in my life seen dumber human beings all vying for power, and it makes me terrified about the future of this country when the dumbest of the dumb think they have what it takes to run this country, because there's plenty of Republicans all around who might just give them the chance to do it.
