Republicans Fail Again With Latest Hunter Biden Hearing Dud

Republicans in the House tried, and failed, once again this week to produce a smoking gun that would link President Biden to "shady" business deals with his son, Hunter. They brought in another "star witness" who admitted that he had no evidence to link President Biden to any of the alleged activity that Republicans have been going on about for months. This won't end until Republicans lose their majority in the House, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

So how many more hearings are we gonna have to sit through before Republicans admit that they've got nothing on Joe and Hunter Biden on Monday of this week behind closed doors? You know, we don't, we don't want the public to hear what Mr. Devin Archer has to say, but Republicans hauled in a former Hunter Biden business associate by the name of Devin Archer, who for the record is, uh, awaiting a jail sentence. So yet another witness to Hunter Biden's alleged criminal activities. Who is waiting to go to jail. So, you know, credibility's already shot before the hearing even begins, but Mr. Archer went and told that house committee that there is no evidence whatsoever that President Biden was involved in any way in any of Hunter Biden's business dealings. What Mr. Archer did tell us, of course, was that there were times when he was present with Hunter Biden and business partners, you know, people attempting to make business deals.

And during those times, every now and then Hunter Biden would call up his dad and put it on speakerphone. But not once. Mr. Archer says not one single time, I think those are his exact words. Not one single time did Hunter Biden or Joe Biden during those phone calls talk about the business deals. He said the conversations were all mundane. How's your day? What are you doing? How's the weather? Weather's crazy, isn't it? Wow. That's fun. I love you, son. Bye. He testified under oath that they never once on those speaker phone calls, discussed any business deals, which of course blows every Republican talking point about this alleged Biden scandal outta the water. 'cause they alleged that Joe Biden was going to bat for his son, hunter Biden. They were squeezing these business partners to give him the payments. They got a $5 million bribe from Barisma and Ukraine.

And the witness testified like, I have never heard that at all. Like, he literally blew up every Republican talking point. And Republicans left that hearing like we got him. Like it was totally great. And then they were asked by reporters. Andy Biggs was asked by reporters, he said, can you talk about the bribe at all the $5 million bribe? And Andy Bigs responded. He he didn't know anything about it. He didn't know anything about that. The reporter asked No big said. So these Republicans are like, yeah, we didn't get anything out of it. There was no smoking gun. Again, he basically couldn't confirm anything. It's all hearsay, it's all conjecture. None of which, by the way, would actually hold up in a court of law. And then

Republicans still went out there proclaiming on Fox News. Yo boy we got it. N no you don't. No you don't. Listen. Last week somebody accused me. 'cause I was talking about the flop against Hunter Biden last week. Somebody actually accused me of defending Hunter Biden. Look, I've never defended Hunter Biden. I have said probably a million times at this point. We could probably put together a five minute super cut of what I'm about to say. I don't care if Hunter Biden goes to jail, if Hunter Biden broke the law, he should go to jail. Okay?

The only thing I'm defending here is reality. Republicans have been at this now for seven months. They have held hearing, after hearing, after hearing, where before every hearing and after every hearing, they tell us, oh, this will be the big one.
