Donald Trump has many weaknesses as he campaigns for president again (and plenty of strengths, if we're being honest) but his Republican rivals have refused to hit him over what might be his biggest weakness of all - and it isn't his criminal indictments. Donald Trump has caused Republicans to lose ground in all of the past 3 electoral cycles, and that has set the GOP back for years to come. If Republicans make the case that he's poison to the Party and back it up with that evidence, they may be able to knock him down a peg, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Donald Trump has a massive weakness out there. And of course, I'm not talking about the indictments against him or anything like that. I'm not talking about the violent rhetoric that he occasionally uses or the juvenile insults that he levels against his Republican and democratic opponents. I'm talking about a very real electoral weakness that so far none of his rivals have pointed out. I mean, Donald Trump has this glaring weakness as the New Republic recently pointed out, and I thought it was a brilliantly uh, uh, done piece. It's not the indictments, it's not the language, it's not the rhetoric, it's not the legal problems. It's not the way he treats women. It's not his proposed abortion ban. Donald Trump's biggest weakness has been evident all along, 20 16, 20 18, 20 20 and 2022. Look back at those elections and tell me what happened. Yes, Donald Trump got elected by the Electoral College in 2016, but he didn't win a majority of the popular vote.

In 2018, we had the blue wave, 40 plus Democrats added to the United States House of Representatives in 2020. We saw Democrats pick up seats in the Senate as well as Donald Trump get his butt handed to him in 2022. Democrats picked up another seat in the Senate. Republicans months before the election predicted a 70 point shift. They have a 10 seat advantage. Instead, Donald Trump is to blame for these things. Donald Trump has brought nothing but electoral misery to the Republican party ever since he was sworn in as president of the United States. That's what this New Republic piece is talking about, and none of his rivals are talking about it like, where are you on this issue? If you were supposed to be some kind of representative for the Republican party, you're trying to elevate the Republican party into these positions of power. Shouldn't you be talking about the fact that this man at the top of your party right now has completely destroyed all of that?

He has cost you multiple different elections. One right after the other special elections that the Republicans should have won. You're now losing because of this guy because everything goes back to him. And none of you are talking about that. I mean, Chris Christie wants to go out there and just keep hitting Trump on the indictments and it's like, yeah, we get it. I do it too, but I'm not running for president. If I were running for president, I would be doing it on substance. And there is no substance to just talking about his indictments every single day. We get it. Everybody knows that those things happened, but if you wanna hit him where it hurts, hit him with the average Republican voter. Talk about the fact that he has

Destroyed the party. Talk about the fact that the Republican Party might actually be set back so far that it still impacts them in elections years away from now. That's actually what, uh, the chair Steve Daines of the National Republican Senatorial Committee said recently. He said, if the Republicans don't take back the Senate in next year's election, they don't have another chance to take it back till the year 2030. And they actually could have taken back the Senate in 2020, had Trump not gone out there and told people in Georgia, don't vote 'cause your vote's gonna get stolen. And then boom, the Democrats took back those two seats.
