Matt Gaetz Leaves Motion To Remove Kevin McCarthy In Congressional Bathroom

A "Motion To Vacate" against Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House was found in the trash in a bathroom in Congress, and there is little doubt among observers that this was tossed aside by Matt Gaetz (because his name was on it.) But that's a little too convenient. Gaetz knows that a piece of legislation sitting atop a pile of trash is going to get picked up, so it is unlikely that he did this with reckless disregard. This seems very intentional on behalf of Gaetz in order to put more pressure on McCarthy, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

So by now, I'm sure everybody knows that on Tuesday evening in the bathroom in Congress, a resolution to oust Kevin McCarthy as speaker, uh, reportedly from Matt Gaetz's own filing was found on a changing table just left in the bathroom, right? We've all seen it, we've probably seen the pictures of it. And of course, in the upper left corner shows the source, the document is gates, uh, gates 1 9 4 xml. Why would Matt Gates just throw this resolution away? Why, why would he leave it in the bathroom? Now, here's something that I wanna talk about. The only reason I wanna talk about this story is 'cause this is something I haven't seen anybody else talk about. Matt Gaetz is a goofball. Sure, but careless, I don't know that that's a word I would use to describe Matt Gatz. I think there's more to this story. I do not think this was Matt Gaetz going into the bathroom with his resolution being like, oh, I, I give up.

Nah, I think he left it there. I think he left it there intentionally for people to find, for people to report on. Now, maybe that sounds conspiratorial to you, but hear me out again. Matt Gaetz is not necessarily careless. And again, according to the, uh, you know, stamp on the document, this came from Gates. He's not gonna leave something like this laying around. He sure as hell is not gonna leave it on a changing table in a bathroom. He's not gonna throw it in the trash in the bathroom because it's an official document. You know, it's got the resolution number and all that right at the top. And he knows that anybody who sees that is going to immediately be intrigued, whether it's another member of Congress, they're gonna pull it out. Or if it's a member of the press, they're gonna pull it out because, hey, why is this piece of legislation sitting in a bathroom?

He knows it's going to grab attention. So he leaves it there, not because he forgot it, not because he wanted to get rid of it, but because he wanted it to be found. See, this document, placing it in that bathroom is the warning shot to Kevin McCarthy. This was Matt Gaetz's way of saying, I can do this. I have this drafted up, and if you do not give in to my demands for these appropriations bills, then this is what I'm going to be filing. I firmly believe 100% this thing was intentionally left there by Matt Gates to send a warning shot to house speaker Kevin McCarthy. Again, you don't leave stuff like this lying around. You don't throw it away in the bathroom at Congress. If you wanted to throw it away, you would do it in the house floor, you'd put it in the shredder, you'd throw it away in your office, right? You wouldn't just be walking around with this until you found a trash can there. There's too many issues with this. For it to just be a clumsy error or Matt Gaetz giving

Up and throwing it away, I don't buy any of that. I think he did it intentionally, and I think he did it one for the press coverage. But most importantly, to put Kevin McCarthy on blast, that if you don't play by Matt's rules, he's coming after you.
