Marjorie Taylor Greene tacked on an amendment using the Holman rule that Kevin McCarthy back in the day when he was speaker of the House earlier this year, he put it back in place in the rules package for this session of the House of Representatives. And the Holman rule allows any member to tack on an amendment to an appropriations bill that would change these salary of the person running that department. Seems kind of weird and oddly specific, but it is what it is nonetheless. So this week, as the Republicans face a looming government shutdown, because we now have nine days as of this recording to, you know, get it finished, Marjorie Taylor Greene Tax on an amendment to the 2024 transportation and housing and urban development spending bill, that would reduce transportation Secretary Pete Bute's salary to $1 per year, similar to what Republicans did just a few weeks ago to Lloyd Austin, the defense secretary when they tacked on a home and rule amendment lowering his salary to $1 per year. So the black man gets paid $1 a year and now they want to take the gay man from the administration and pay him $1 a year.

And if you don't think that these moves by these house republicans are fully related to their bigotry, then let me read you this quote from Marjorie Taylor Greene after she proposed this. This is what she put on Twitter. She said, Pete Buttigieg doesn't do his job. It's all about fake photo ops. And taxpayer funded private jet trips to accept L-G-B-T-Q awards for him. I'm happy my amendment passed, but he doesn't deserve a single penny. She literally called him out for being L-G-B-T-Q. She singled him out because he is gay. She singled out Lloyd Austin because he is black. You're not gonna convince me otherwise. We have a Republican party right now that is not voting on things to help the American public. Again, we could have had this whole debt ceiling thing, or not debt ceiling, excuse me, budget issue, government shutdown thing solved up 35 days ago, but they couldn't do it then.

And now rather than actually being serious about it, Marjorie Taylor Greene's like, wait a minute, let me throw a little bigotry into the mix and try to punish a man because I don't like his, his lifestyle because that's what she's doing Now listen, you know, regular viewers, listeners ring a fire. Y'all know I have not been a fan of Pete Buttigieg. I personally think he has not done a good job and I think he should be replaced by this administration. But that is not based on his sexuality. It is not based on anything other than the massive amount

Of transportation department failures we have seen in the last two and a half years. It, it's been a train wreck, sometimes quite literally a train wreck. So I don't think Buttigieg has done a good job. He was thrust into a position that he is not qualified to handle, but that has nothing to do with his sexuality. And Marjorie Taylor Greene literally made it all about that. She's a bigot. I don't know what else to say.
