A group of Republican senators have released a new "analysis" showing that the cost of living has gone up by thousands of dollars per year for each American family. To be fair, their numbers are accurate, and millions of Americans are struggling to get by. But what their "analysis" is lacking is blame in the right place. While Republicans want to put the blame on Biden, and many Americans agree with that, the REAL blame is with Republican policies that have crippled the working class for decades. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's REALLY happening.

Recently Republicans in this Senate put out an analysis, not a study, not a report, but they did an analysis of how financially bad American citizens are under President Biden. And to do this, they looked at the consumer financial price index to say, oh my God, on average Americans are spending $11,434 more per year now just to maintain the same lifestyle that they enjoyed. And Republicans picked a very random month for this, but, uh, January of 2021, right? So I wonder what happened in January of 2021 till now that would make Republicans say, let's only look at this tiny little snapshot in time. We all know what happened in that tiny little snapshot in time that encompasses the entire Biden administration, and also when we were less than a year into the pandemic that was still raging through the country, eventually killing more than 1 million Americans and still killing people to this day, by the way.

So yeah, you look at things through that time, it's gonna get bad. We had supply chain issues, we had rampant inflation due to the supply chain issues. But you know, Republicans didn't really wanna mention all of that in their report because that would actually really kind of justify why things got so bad. Even though, of course, as we know statistically, they are getting better. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't want people saying, listen, Faron, look out there in the real world. Things are bad. I know things are bad. Jesus Christ, you think I'm having a good time right now? No Americans. Millions of Americans are struggling. Things are not good. They're good on paper for Biden's economy. Don't get me wrong, they have gotten really great on paper in practice out there. Too many people are struggling. Too many people are suffering, and omics is not helping them.

But at the same time, this economic catastrophe that this country is going through is not Biden's fault. So those two things can be true, folks. Yes, millions of people are suffering. No, it is not President Biden's fault. I mean, we did have a global pandemic, but let's look at even before the pandemic, before COVID-19 became a thing, economists were already warning us that this country was less than 12 months away. And I did segments right here on Ring of Fire talking about it. We were 12 months away, they said at most, from a recession, why? Because of the policies enacted by then, Republican President, Donald J. Trump. And of course, a large part of that has to do with the 2017 tax scam package that Republicans

Push through every, and we ended up having a recession. Obviously, COVID helped make that happen faster than 12 months away. Every Republican president in my lifetime, and I'm 40 years old, every Republican president has overseen a recession. Every one of them, every Democratic president has had to pull the country out of a recession, which yes, president Biden has done just like President Barack Obama did before him, just like Bill Clinton did in the nineties. Republicans love putting out crap like this analysis and telling us, look how bad these Democrats are. Yeah, why don't you roll back the clock a little bit. Go back further than January of 2021. Let's see how horrible things were then. Democrats are not excellent at the economy, but they are a million times better than Republicans could ever hope to be. The problem is the voters do not see it that way.
