YouTube Description
as posted by the channelPresident Biden is back on top of Donald Trump in the national aggregate polling, but a new poll shows that Biden may have a different threat: Nikki Haley. A new poll has Haley polling 4 points ahead of Biden, even though she's still losing by a LOT to Trump in the Republican primary. But this poll could give her some momentum heading into the primaries and caucuses if she's able to convince the public that she, and only she, can beat the incumbent. Or maybe its all crap, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

Folks, the polls are going crazy right now with all kinds of chaos and stupid results coming out faster than you can count it. So let's take a minute to appreciate what used to be a very fine art of political polling that has now become just abject trash rash. According to the latest polls out there, president Biden, the aggregate polls, president Biden is now once again back on top and he's beating Donald Trump. But this week we got another outlier poll from the Messenger and Harris that found that not only does Donald Trump beat President Biden by seven points in a head-to-head matchup, which totally unrealistic given the fact that every other poll right now shows Biden back ahead of Trump. But they also showed that Nikki Haley beats President Biden in a head-to-head matchup by four points. So every other poll shows Biden beats Trump new poll shows, Haley beats Biden.
But at the same time, according to this same poll, Trump beats Haley in the Republican primary. So we got a real big rock paper scissors thing going here, right? Haley beats Biden. Biden beats Trump. Trump beats Haley. So, you know, if you're looking for a new fun game to play over the holidays, it should be Haley Biden Trump, because it is exactly rock paper, scissors, because everybody beats the thing before it. But what does any of this mean? It means don't worry about the frigging polls right now, folks. Yes, everything is stupid. Yes, everything is changing. There's gonna be outliers, there's gonna be weirdness, there's gonna be wacky, wild things happening. That don't mean a thing because the presidential election is roughly a year away.
So the big question is, what has happened with polling? Why can we not trust the polls anymore? I mean, the polls were off in 2016. They were off in 2018, off in 20 20, 20 22, and so on. So is it that we just cannot rely on these polls at all? Kinda the difference is the way that these pollsters now operate. Now I, I've told this story a hundred times, I'll tell it a hundred more if I have to. When I was in school getting my degree in political science, one of the courses I had to take was on political polling methods. How you do the polls, the math equations that you use to find the margin of error, how you're supposed to conduct them. There were actually lots of different math equations you have to use because God, I'm dating myself with
This, this, back then polls were conducted via landline telephone. You were not allowed legally to even call people's cell phones for solicitation purposes back then. Um, because, you know, you paid by the minute. But we didn't have online polls. We didn't have things where people could log in multiple times or from different computers or with different addresses and skew the polls. That's what we have now. So, because fewer and fewer people have landlines and those who do trend way older and far more conservative because of that, the traditional polling methods no longer work. But this poll I just mentioned, the Harris, uh, uh, uh, messenger poll is done online, which is great. That's a great way to reach a lot of people.
