One of Donald Trump's lawyers, Jesse Binnall, suggested during an interview this week that the Justices on Colorado's Supreme Court could face future prosecutions if Trump gets back into office. Binnall said that there "needs to be accountability," but that is EXACTLY what these justices delivered this week. There wasn't even a whiff of any criminal behavior in their ruling, but a Trump White House will bring charges and look for crimes later, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

This week, one of Donald Trump's lawyers suggested that a quote, real Department of Justice would seriously look into filing criminal charges against the justices on the Colorado State Supreme Court for their decision to kick Donald Trump off the ballot using the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment. Now, let's be very clear about something, before I even read the comment from this lawyer, a man by the name of Jesse Banal, um, you cannot criminally prosecute a judge for a decision that they hand down. So before I even read his statement, let's be clear, you cannot criminally prosecute a judge for a decision that they hand down. Yet here is a lawyer who I am assuming, went to law school and passed the bar who says, we should prosecute these people, or at least implies that a real DOJ would do.

So here is his exact statement. And what needs to happen is there are already federal statutes on the books about violation of civil rights and the color of law. Every single one of these people, and when we actually have a real Department of justice, should be held to account for their decision to throw out our justice system into the fire effectively, and leave the rule of law that has made our country so special over the years, and instead decide to make decisions based on politics and not the law. There needs to be accountability there. There was accountability. That's that's what that, that trial was all about. The trial that by the way, your client didn't show up to, he didn't even go, didn't think it was a big deal. So if he really cared about it, he would've shown his butt up there. I mean, I know he was busy 'cause he was every now and then popping into his fraud trial in New York.

But even that one, he didn't show up every day. Your client got held accountable. Those justices on the Colorado State Supreme Court looked at the letter of the law, looked at what the United States Constitution said in the 14th Amendment. They looked at Trump's actions and they made the determination that what he did, or actually more specifically what he didn't do, by not calling in the military to immediately stop the insurrection by failing to act, he was giving his tacit support to the insurrection. Therefore, he supported it by not taking it down. So you may disagree with that ruling. I know you do. You can appeal it to the Supreme Court. You can go and you can make the arguments that Donald Trump was not legally required to take action. That

Does not mean that he absolutely did support it. That's what you can argue. But you can't sit there and threaten these judges with prosecution. You cannot sit there and imply that Donald Trump, if he gets back into the White House, is gonna use the Department of Justice to politically punish those, whoever win against him. That's authoritarianism, that's a dictatorship. And I know Trump supporters are in love with the idea of him being a dictator. But you are a frigging lawyer. You should know better, you should be smarter than to make these comments, but clearly you're not.
