Fox Host Suggests Taylor Swift Is A CIA Psyop Being Used To Help Democrats

In what might be one of the strangest - and dumbest - conspiracy theories pushed by Fox News in recent years, a host on the network brought up the possibility last week of Taylor Swift being some kind of CIA plant that is being used to help Democrats win elections. The host, Jesse Watters, is upset about the fact that Swift recently teamed up with Vote.org to encourage people to register to vote, and he made the suggestion last week which then began to circulate among conservatives online who helped build upon his idiotic statement. A host on Fox News last week, actually, one of the more popular hosts, Jesse Waters openly suggested that somebody at the White House got, he said, got to Taylor Swift to get her to partner with the group of vote.org to encourage young people to register to vote. Specifically Jesse Waters said, I wonder who got to or from the White House or wherever, who makes that initial handshake? Implying of course, that there is something nefarious going on between the Democrats in the White House or wherever, as he says, and the most popular pop star on the planet Taylor Swift, because obviously, right, a, a person encouraging people to just register to vote, not even telling them how to vote, just go register to vote. Clearly that is an op. Well after Jesse Waters put this out into the ether again, this all happened like within the last five days.

Conspiracy theories exploded and expanded upon Jesse Waters idea saying that Taylor Swift was somehow a CIA PS IOP designed to help Democrats win the 2024 election. Because again, she's just encouraging people to register to vote, and whenever she goes out and makes public statements about people registering to vote, it does of course, overwhelm the system because tens of thousands of people go and register to vote. So of course, republicans would believe that that is some kind of conspiracy theory because God forbid more people register to vote in this country, and that we actually get a more participatory democratic system. But it all started with Jesse Waters and his idiotic statement somehow implying that Taylor Swift had been recruited by the government to help the Democrats. This is the level of stupid we are dealing with. This is the type of idiotic brain dead propaganda coming from Fox News on a daily basis.

I remember, you know, when I started working here at Ring of Fire the year 2004, we obviously did lots of segments on Fox News because they were pushing, you know, obvious right wing talking points, and we would call them out for it all the time. I would love for Fox News to go back to what it was in 2004, right? Just spreading, you know, right wing talking points as opposed to what they are today, which is, let's just go full Alex Jones, which is what the network is becoming. I mean, debunking talking points all day long is an easy task, but when you actually have to get to the point where we are now with Fox, where you're having to address their conspiracy theories,

That's just a whole new level of stupid that I really hate that I even have to waste my time on. But they are the most watched cable news network in the country. So we have to talk about the idiotic things that they say. It got so bad last week, that you had Pentagon spokesperson, Sabrina Singh had to come out and issue a statement to Politico saying, as for this conspiracy theory, we're going to shake it off. But that does highlight that we still need Congress to approve our supplemental budget request as swiftly as possible so we can be outta the woods with potential fiscal concerns. So, a couple Taylor Swift puns in there, but the, the, the Pentagon itself had to like come out and actively address these new right-wing conspiracy theories that Taylor Swift is a psyop designed to get people to register to vote, because that's just how dumb we have become as a country.
