Ron DeSantis Goes To War With Conservative Media

Ron DeSantis is no longer the darling of conservative media outlets, and he can't stand it. While speaking with reporters at an event last Friday, DeSantis whined about the fact that Fox News appears to be protecting Trump, and they are running cover for all of the horrible things that he does. Of course, DeSantis isn't actually wrong about his assessment of Fox and the rest of conservative media, but it is only bothering him because he wants that level of adoration again. As Florida Governor Ron DeSantis continues to put his presidential campaign into an early grave. He is now decided that he is gonna go scorched earth against everyone that he feels may have wronged him throughout the co course of his presidential campaign. And one of those groups that he believes has wronged him, that he lashed out at, uh, in a recent conversation with reporters is the entire conservative media apparatus. That's right folks. Ron DeSantis, once the darling of said conservative media apparatus, has decided to go to war with them. And even I know that's not a smart decision, the conservative media apparatus, including Fox News, who Rhon DeSantis also called out, uh, is a pretty massive and very well-funded machine that, hey, if you could easily beat them by just talking crap about them, trust me, the left would be winning every election in this country.

But you'd simply don't fight a machine like that and expect to walk away victorious on your own. But here is what Ron DeSantis said during a recent conversation with reporters. He's got basically talking about Donald Trump, a pretorian guard of the Conservative media, Fox News, the websites, all this stuff. They just don't hold him accountable because they're worried about losing viewers and they don't want to have their ratings go down. So as Ron DeSantis says, the entire conservative media apparatus led of course by Fox News, they're only interested in protecting Trump. They don't wanna call him out. They don't wanna talk about how horrible he is or all of his scandals and legal problems. No, no, no, no, no. They wanna protect him and elevate him, which is of course what Ron DeSantis wants to be getting at here. That's why his campaign went down the tubes.

You know, let's pretend for a second that it was only, you know, wasn't just a few years ago where Rupert Murdoch said that Ron DeSantis was the future. Uh, that did happen, by the way. And let's also not forget that. Uh, Fox News specifically did nothing but run puff pieces on Ron DeSantis for the last year. They tried so hard to make him likable. They tried so hard to elevate him. All of the rest of conservative media, uh, even before DeSantis, of course, was running for president, was hyping him up, right? He was the guy he was gonna take over Trump world, 'cause Trump was out of it. He was the guy transforming Florida into this conservative utopia. I don't think there was a single conservative outlet out there that didn't talk about how amazing Ron DeSantis is. But now, now that it's obvious that DeSantis ain't gonna win and that his campaign is, you know, on life support right now, we're basically pulling the plug. Now they're back on in line

With Trump as predicted. But DeSantis is angry about that. It's not just that he feels they tanked his campaign 'cause he knows that's not true. What he's mad about, really, and this is the heart of it, he's mad that he's not getting that fawning coverage anymore. He's mad that he's not getting those puff pieces and those softball questions. Instead, he goes on Fox News and they're asking him, dude, what the hell happened to your campaign? He misses the glory days when he was the chosen one of the Republican party following the downfall, alleged downfall of Donald Trump. And he wants to go back to that. But you can never relive your glory days, Ron, no matter how hard you try.
