4:23Now PlayingRepublicans in Texas are still fuming about this week's Supreme Court ruling that said that they have to remove the razor wire that they had installed along the border that was maiming migrants. Governor Greg Abbott says he is going to attempt to defy the order, but other Republicans are wanting to take it a step further and are suggesting a new Civil War. This isn't a new idea for Republicans, and the SCOTUS ruling could be the catalyst. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Republican governor Greg Abbott of Texas, has announced that he is in fact going to defy the Supreme Court's ruling from earlier this week that said that the federal authorities can actually cut the razor wire that Greg Abbott had installed along our southern border. That has been maiming migrants. Even the Supreme Court with its conservative majority said, hell no, you can't do that. And Greg Abbott this week says, well, hell no. You can't tell me no. But Greg Abbott is not alone. Republican Congressman Chip Roy from the state of Texas is calling on the state to, as they are, disregard the Supreme Court's order. Don't listen to them, keep installing more razor wire. And in fact, chip Roy has suggested that he, he may use his position in the house to cause the government shutdown because he is off at the Supreme Court, which a shutdown down's probably not gonna affect the Supreme Court.
So you're taking out your revenge on the wrong people, chip Roy, but you're a moron. So you know that's what you do. But it gets even worse than that because ever since this ruling was handed down on Monday, you have had conservatives all over the country on social media now calling for a civil war. One of them specifically said, my thoughts are that the Feds are staging a civil war in Texas should stand their ground. So it's not that the people of Texas or the Republicans in Texas want a civil war. It's the Feds have staged a civil war by saying you cannot maim and seriously injure migrants, people coming across the southern border. And as I always say, because it's always worth reminding people illegally crossing the southern border of the United States into this country is a misdemeanor offense. It is not a felony.
It is not a capital offense. It is a freaking misdemeanor. But let me bring this up too, because as you have these Republicans in Texas calling for a civil war, 'cause the Feds ain't doing their jobs. Let me ask you this. Didn't your governor spend millions of dollars sending troops down to the southern border? I mean, didn't he get infusions of both cash and National Guard soldiers and regular police officers from other states, South Dakota sent people down Florida, I know sent people over other red states, sent their law enforcement down there with you along that southern border. They did. So if you are mad that people are still coming across, that the Fed is literally allegedly not doing their job, shouldn't your anger be
Directed at your own state and at these other red states too? Because clearly they're not doing their job right. I mean, that's who was sent down there literally for this reason. Your state did it and they're not doing it. So why are you mad at the feds when they're actually doing their job? By the way, the feds are monitoring the border. They are apprehending people at a record rate. They're deporting people at a record rate. They're seizing more drugs and more terrorists at the border than ever before seizing them. So they're not getting into the country. So your quarrel is not with the federal government. Your quarrel is with what your governor did and failed to do properly. So if y'all wanna talk about being angry, you better direct your anger where it is deserved. 'cause it's not the federal government that's letting you down.
