Kellyanne Conway appears to have given up on her mission to help Republicans "soften their image" on the issue of women's reproductive freedom, and this week she's now telling Republicans to just "own it" with regards to restricting women's rights. Following Tuesday's special election loss, Conway says that Republicans need to own the fact that they are the "pro-life" Party, even though it is proven to be a losing issue for Republicans. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Kellyann Conway was recently tasked with helping Republicans to massage, if you will, their stance on abortion. Because the Republican Party has come to the conclusion finally that abortion is a losing issue for them. Even in deep red areas of this country where abortion has been put on the ballot. Even conservatives say, let us have it. But nevertheless, following the Republicans humiliating defeat in the special election to replace George Santos on Tuesday, Kellyann Conway has decided that I guess she's giving up and is now encouraging Republicans to just go out there and be as stupid as humanly possible. Here is what Kellyann Conway said on tv following that election loss on Tuesday, uh, Swazi instead of lying like every other Democrat seems to be doing these days, you know, gotta throw in a little bit of gaslighting there, right? What did he do? He said, I better go against my party on the border.
And he did it. Paid advertising mailers, press conferences, public appeals. So he has shown the Democrats how to run on the border. I think Republicans should do the same thing with abortion. She says, instead of being ostriches and pretending with their head in the sand, they should be peacocks and say, look, this is what it means to be pro-life in 2024. This is what it means to be pro-choice in 2024. And instead of hiding, own it and message it. I think he did a great job with that going against his party. Let's see how many Democrats follow suit? So she's telling Republicans, own it, own it, own the issue of abortion Republicans. Now, Kellyann again about this time last year, you were picked for the, so-called autopsy committee for the Republican Party to find out why they didn't do as well as they thought they would do in the 2022 midterm elections.
It was determined that one of the biggest factors in the Republicans underperforming was the issue of abortion following the Supreme Court, overturning Roe versus Wade, and then the spate of Republicans at the state level passing abortion bans that hurt your party. You came to that conclusion now, two or three months ago, you made your way to DC to start meeting with lawmakers to help them basically try to run away from the issue and act like, no, no, no, no, we're, we're not totally for national abortion bans. We just, you know, we we're so, we're for birth control is what she had said. And now she's just like, you know what? Screw it. Just own it. Just go out there and message it. Um, maybe she's telling them to go against the party on abortion. 'cause she does bring up that, uh, Swazi who did win in Tuesday's election went against his party on the border, although he did, didn't really do that. But anyway, um,
So I don't know if she is telling them to go against your party on the issue of abortion, but the way she says own it kind of tells me that she's not saying that. And if this is in fact the advice that she is giving to the Republican party, then she is telling them, go sabotage your own campaigns, which I'm all for, don't get me wrong. I think that's great advice. I think everybody in the Republican Party should listen to Kellyann Conway. But if you wanna win elections, probably best to not take advice from a serial campaign loser like Kellyann Conway.
