Republicans Are Actually Bragging That Katie Britt Is The New Sarah Palin

While most Republicans agree that Senator Katie Britt's State of the Union response was an unmitigated disaster, others see an opportunity - because they clearly don't remember recent history. Some Republicans are now comparing Britt to Sarah Palin, saying that the media is attacking her unfairly and underestimating her popularity. Apparently these Republicans think that this is exactly what happened with Palin, and while she was attacked for her stupidity and lack of awareness, she was NEVER actually popular with the public. Alright folks. So now the dust has really settled on Katy Britt's, horrific state of the Union response. And even though in the immediate days that over this past weekend right after the speech, you had Republican lawmakers, Republican strategists, uh, basically say, I mean, one of them literally said, this is the biggest disaster for the Republicans ever. They were trashing her along with the left, along with the media. Everybody was in agreement that this was probably the worst speech any of us have ever heard. Oh, how time can change things, right? Even if it is only a matter of days, because now Republicans are coming out and defending Katie Britt and get this, they're doing it by comparing her to Sarah Palin.

They're comparing her to Sarah Palin. Not in a bad way either. I mean, typically if you were to compare somebody to Sarah Palin, that would be a horrible insult. Like you don't ever want to be compared to Sarah Palin. But now Republicans are comparing her to Sarah Palin and saying like, oh, poor thing. She's just like Sarah Palin, somebody that everybody loved and was treated so unfairly by the media, right? Listen to what some of these idiots have to say. This is, uh, MIT Romney who didn't compare her to uh, uh, uh, Sarah Palin, but he did say this. He goes, um, Britt's delivery was over the top and outta character just like Biden's. But he then said, the media overreaction to hers and lenient response to Biden tells us who liberals most fear as VP nominee.

Are you that stupid mit? Like, are you genuinely that dumb? I don't think, and I I put money on this, that there is not a single liberal in this country. Anyone on the left that is afraid of Katie Britt being Donald Trump's vice presidential pick. We, we all think like, oh hell yes, please put her on the ticket. Like that would be hilarious because it would be like Sarah Palin. So you're way off base and a bit of a dumb if that's what you think. Vin Weber, GOP strategist, agreed with Romney's assessment that Democrats see Britt as a real threat and want to clip her wings as quickly as possible, which is what they tried to do to Sarah Palin when she threatened to pull women voters away from former President Obama in 2008. Weber said, Palin, who was the most popular governor in the country in 2008, similarly scared Democrats pointing to polls in 2007 that showed palin with 93% and 89% approval among voters. The way she was treated was unfair, and the way Senator Britts being treated is unfair. He said 93% approval rating, the most popular governor in America.

That's news to me. And I covered politics during that entire time. How did I not know that Sarah Palin had a 93% approval rating and 89% approval rating? Oh, I didn't know about it because those were from single polls before she was picked as, uh, John McCain's vice presidential candidate. So what happened once John McCain actually picked her and put her on the ticket, her approval rating was 40%. Don't come at me with this. Don't publish this. This is what me off about the media.
