Manhattan Prosecutors Have Plan To Weed Out MAGA Fanatics From Jury Pool

One of the concerns of the prosecutors in Manhattan is that a single diehard MAGA fan could taint the jury pool and cause either a hung jury or a complete acquittal for Trump, regardless of the evidence against him. In order to avoid that, prosecutors have several questions that they plan on asking potential jurors to make sure that no one gets through that won't base their decision on the facts of the case. With Donald Trump's very first criminal trial set to begin on Monday, which will begin of course with jury instruction. We now have a clear picture of the questions that the prosecutors and the defense lawyers for Trump will be asking potential jurors this list of questions, and we don't have the full list. I'm just gonna tell you the important ones, uh, has been approved by both sides. So they're ready, they're good with these questions. And before I start telling you the questions, let me explain why this is important. Obviously, as Trump lawyers have argued, new York's very liberal place, so you're gonna have a pretty liberal jury pool, but the prosecutors are of course worried that there are still plenty of Trump supporters in New York, plenty of Republicans in New York. So we have to make sure, because we're gonna have to get a unanimous jury verdict that we do not end up with a MAGA hat wearing weirdo on this jury who's gonna result in a hung jury.

And then we gotta do the whole thing over again. So in order to weed those people out, one of the questions is gonna be, uh, have you attended a Trump rally? And of course they will also be asked, have you attended a Biden rally? Okay, just to be fair, right? Are you going to the rallies of these people? And some of the other questions are, do you believe in the Q Anon stuff? Are you a member of the Proud Boys? Do you support the Proud boys? Do you support the oath keepers? Are you an oath Keep, uh, do you have of course, any strong feelings about this candidate that is before you as a defendant that could render your judgment? You know, ask skew. Those are very good questions, I must say like that. It's smart and that's what you have to do. Listen, we do not want to go into this trial with a bunch of people wearing Biden Harris 24 T-shirts on that jury.

Just like we don't want people with the MAGA hats on that jury, because if the jury is tainted too far to the left or to the left at all intentionally, they're gonna have easy basis for appeal and they could possibly get the whole thing thrown out. This jury has to be fair, they do have to be impartial, which is very difficult in an increasingly, uh, in, uh, partial country, right? But they're gonna do their due, do due diligence here. Sorry, I'm getting a little tongue tied, but I like these questions. I like that it does include both sides. I like that the defense and the prosecutors have already agreed upon these questions. So there's gonna be no, even if Trump's lawyers try to, no objections to them when Monday rolls around, they did a good job and hopefully they

End up with an impartial jury capable of coming to a unanimous decision that is not based on their political beliefs and is instead based on the evidence presented during the trial.
