Marjorie Taylor Greene is refusing to back down from her mission to oust Republican Speaker Mike Johnson, and she insisted this week that his days are numbered. Greene is still struggling to get enough support to actually go through with it, but that isn't stopping her. Neither is the fact that she could end up losing her Party the majority for both the rest of this year as well as after November's election. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Even though she is struggling to come up with other Republicans who support her effort to kick out House Speaker Mike Johnson, Marjorie Taylor Green insisted over the weekend and a post on social media that his days are numbered. See, green doesn't care that she's blowing up the Republican party. She doesn't care that the entirety of conservative media has now turned against her. She doesn't care that her fellow lawmakers are out there calling her out, and she doesn't even seem to care that Donald Trump is no longer on her side on this issue. All Green knows is that she's mad as hell and she's not gonna take it anymore. So here is what Green posted on social media on Sunday. Permanent funding for Ukraine is exactly what they want, and Mike Johnson will give it to them. Peace is not an option for them because it doesn't fit the government, appropriations, war, business and economic model, which is violent, disgusting. Their plan is to keep funding the proxy war with Russia and Ukraine. And when that doesn't work, after all the Ukrainian men have been slaughtered, next they will put American troops on the ground. Johnson will do whatever Biden Schumer want in order to keep the speaker's gavel in his hand. But he has completely sold out. The Republican voters who gave us the majority his days as speaker are numbered.

Now, it's interesting, Marjorie, not only, as I mentioned, did you lose the support of conservative media. You've lost the support of your fellow lawmakers. You lost the, lost the support of Donald Trump. Uh, you're also not on the same side as the public on this issue. Yeah, the public as a whole does not necessarily oppose funding Ukraine as, as you know, adamantly as you do. In fact, most of them support it. You know, to a degree. There's limitations on this. We can't just keep doing this forever, but at the same time, we cannot let this dictator over in Russia just take over another country, right? That threatens global security, global stability. So we can't let that happen. And most people understand like, yeah, it's a bad thing for Putin to do that. We gotta help because our allies over there are asking us for help, and we're providing it to them.

So you're on the wrong side of this issue, no matter how you slice it, but you're still going after Johnson. Now, I have a theory about this. You know, as we all know, Matt Gaetz and Marjorie Taylor Greene were the best of buddies for so long, and they have now drifted apart. You know, it's very sad. But, um, last year, of course, Matt Gaetz is the guy who led the, uh, charge to get rid of Kevin McCarthy. And he was successful. Marjorie Taylor Green saw that he was successful, realized that, oh boy, everything's looking. Matt Gaetz, you know, he's, he's getting all the media attention. I want that, so I'm gonna do the same thing, except it didn't work for her. And rather than, you know, tucking her tail and being like, okay, I guess nobody's with me on this. She's just like tripling,

Quadrupling, quintupling down on it. Every chance she gets, she's like, no, by God, we're still gonna do it. Even if it means losing the majority in the house, even if it means losing the election in November, she is still pushing this because she be moved. She cannot admit that she was wrong. She cannot admit that Mike Johnson is apparently more popular than she had thought. You know, you went down this path and once you realized you were lost, instead of retracing your steps and going back, you are like, screw it.
