Either Donald Trump's own supporters don't know that they're getting scammed by him, or they simply don't seem to care. According to author Joe Connon, who has a new book out titled The Longest Con, how Grifters Swindlers and Frauds Hijacked American Conservatism Connon Reminds The American Public that following the 2020 election results, Donald Trump, of course, went off the deep end, told his supporters he was gonna challenge the election results, but by God he can't do it if he doesn't have the money to do it right. The billionaire was apparently short on cash, so he raised more than $250 million from his supporters telling them, of course, that it was gonna go to a legal or an election defense fund. And then he proceeded to put $0 of that quarter of a billion into an election defense fund. Donald Trump swindled his own voters out of a quarter of a billion dollars, and they just went about their days as if nothing happened.

Here's what Conan said during an interview with Morning Joe this week. The book sort of tells a story of how conservatives got to the point where they're milking their own constituents for every penny they can squeeze out of them on false pretenses in almost every case. The epitome of this, of course, is the former president who booked a quarter of a billion dollars after the 2020 election by telling people he was going to set up an official election defense fund. And of course the money didn't go to that, but they pulled in hundreds of millions of dollars in two months after the election and it was going, it ended up in a super PAC that he controls and that he can spend on anything, including of course, his legal defense, not election defense, his legal defense, his personal legal defense. But this is a syndrome, a problem on the right that a lot of conservatives have discussed, and they do nothing about it, right?

So the question becomes, do Donald Trump's supporters understand that they are getting scammed? And if they do, do they even care about it? Well, believe it or not, we actually kind of have an answer to that in interviews, focus groups, and of course, polls conducted among Donald Trump's supporters in recent months. It's shown that they actually don't care what he uses their money on. You know, if he sends out a fundraising email and says, I'm gonna use the money for this, and then turns around and uses it for his legal fees, his own supporters have admitted to pollsters like, we're okay with that. They've said in interviews, we don't mind. We don't care what he uses our money for. We just want him to have our money. And, and these aren't, by the way, donations from millionaires and billionaires. These are average everyday working class people that are struggling to get by. Okay? They don't have the money to spare at this point, but they're still willing to give it to this charlatan, this conman, and
