The Republican Convention in Milwaukee kicked off on Monday of this week, tens of thousands of people in attendance, including some indicted fake electors. And when the chair of the Republican Party of the state of Wisconsin, man, by the name of Brian Shimming, was asked about the presence of fake electors at your convention by a CNN, uh, reporter, shimming actually dismissed the concerns and said, no, these are good people, even though of course some of them are facing very serious criminal charges. So here's what happened. You had CNN reporter Kate, uh, uh, Baldwin on Monday called up with Mr. Shimming, again, chair of the Republican Party of Wisconsin, asked him this. There are seven battleground states, one of them, including Wisconsin, that some of the delegates that are coming are fake electors or others who had worked to upend the 2020 election results to represent, uh, state parties when they're here.
Uh, when I was looking at it, it's one fake elector as a delegate, and one is an alternate for the Wisconsin, I I'm going to call it the delegation. Are you okay with that? Like, what does that say? Shimming didn't miss a beat downplaying this. And he said, quote, what it says is, there are a lot of good Republicans that were involved in these elector situations in some of the states who didn't believe they were doing anything illegal at all. So really we have good, good Republicans, as do other states that are in their delegations that didn't feel as though they were doing anything wrong. And in some states that that was the legal feeling on it too. So that's not an issue for us at all. It's not an issue because these people didn't think they were doing anything wrong. Now, let me ask you this, Mr.
Shimming. Um, did you really have to scrape the bottom of the barrel? I mean, are these the only Republicans you could find? I'm sure there are other average everyday Republicans in your state that did not participate in an illegal scheme that you could have said, Hey, you want to be a delegate. But, but you didn't go to them, right? The party didn't go to them. You went to the fake electors. And it really does speak volumes to your party that the best you can find are people that are facing criminal charges. I mean, I guess it technically makes sense seeing as how your nominee is a convicted felon. So, you know, I guess the party of criminals likes to keep it the party of criminals, right? Here's where it gets even sicker when Donald Trump is formally presented with his nomination, right? The man who will be on stage saying, I present to you the Republican nominee, Donald J. Trump. Do you know who that person is? It's a man by the name of Michael McDonald. Not that Michael McDonald or the other Michael McDonald, apparently that's a very common name. He is the Nevada, uh, Nevada GOP chairman, who was also indicted as a fake elector. Now, technically, the charges against him were dismissed
