Republican Leaders Beg Party To Stop The Racist Attacks Against Kamala Harris

Republicans are already screwing themselves over by focusing on Vice President Kamala Harris' ethnicity as she becomes the likely Democratic nominee, and that's not a message that is going to win over any new voters. And now Republican leaders in the House are panicking and begging their Party to stop with the racist attacks. These pleas are falling on deaf ears though, as many Republicans are now extending these same attacks to other Democrats. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what's happening.

Do you know how you can tell when your party is kind of in a deep, deep hole if you have to have a closed door meeting with the members of your own political party? And during that closed door meeting, you tell everybody, Hey, could you all stop being racist pieces of trash for a few minutes? If you're having to do that, then I'm sorry, but your party is already garbage. But that is exactly what happened this week with the Republican delegation in the House of Representatives. On Tuesday of this week, Republican leaders had a closed door meeting with the Republican caucus where they begged party members to please stop with the racist and misogynistic attacks against Kamala Harris, who of course at this point is the presumptive democratic nominee. And let's be clear, we have seen in just the few days between Biden dropping out and their Tuesday meeting, the racist attacks were flying with Republican lawmakers calling her a DEI hire diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Um, there were misogynistic attacks, JD Vance's, past misogynistic attacks against Harris Resurfaced where he called her a childless cat lady back in 2021 on Tucker Carlson. So yeah, republicans are like, guys, listen, um, we're not gonna win people over if we come out there and say like, we hate women and we hate non-white people. Okay? So maybe don't do that. But the talk didn't do any good because the talk of DEI hires and the misogynistic attacks did not stop after that meeting on Tuesday, which is honestly not surprising. You can't go up to a group of racist people and say, don't be racist. I mean, hell if that worked, racism would've been solved in this country centuries ago, right? But that's what we're dealing with, with that Republican delegation. There are far too many racists in there, or at least if they're not racist themselves, they know that they have to play to a racist base.

So they're going to use these attacks like, oh, she's only there because she's, she's black and Asian American. Oh, she's only there because they picked her 'cause she was a woman. And women can't do anything. And if women don't have children, then they are worthless. You wanna go forward with those messages? Be my guest. I'm not gonna stop you, but just understand. And they do understand, you know, the, the smarter ones in the party that, uh, this isn't gonna win you any swing voters, okay? There's no on the fence voter out there in America who's like, well, I don't know. I mean, this guy's a convicted felon, but they're telling me this lady's black, so I'm gonna go with the fe. There's nobody who's making that distinction, okay, by pointing out that somebody is black or pointing out that they're a woman and mocking them for it. There's

Not on the fence voters who are gonna be like, oh, well I was unsure, but then the racism kicked in and, boy, now I'm sold. Trust me, the racist had already picked their candidate. The misogynist had already picked their candidate, and it wasn't going to be a Democrat. But what you will do, of course, is shift the narrative of this campaign in a way that is not going to benefit the Republican party. You are going to push more people away. So again, I'm not gonna stop you from doing it, and clearly your own party's not gonna stop you from doing it. But I will just say with a bit of a smirk here that you know, screw around and find out basically, because that's what you're gonna do.
