While there are plenty of Republicans in the Senate and House who love Donald Trump’s pick of J.D. Vance, there is a growing chorus of others who are hoping Trump makes a switch before it is too late. Trump has about a week left before he can’t make any changes to the ticket (due to state rules about declared and nominated candidates), but it isn’t likely that he’ll make a switch – it would be an admission of failure, and Trump will never do that. Apparently there are some Republican senators who do not think that Donald Trump's choice of JD Vance as his running mate was the smartest idea. And of course, these Republicans spoke to the hill this week, all on the condition of anonymity to voice their concerns about how bad JD Vance is for the Trump campaign ticket. And before I get into some of these actually kind of hilarious quotes, um, it's important to point out that Donald Trump basically has about a week, maybe before he has to stick with JD Vance, no matter what, due to states having rules about the date when you have to have your set people on the ballot, and you can't switch it out after that. So yeah, Trump's got about a week left to decide whether or not he's going to admit he made a mistake, which he will never do or stick with the mistake, which of course he will do.

But here is what some Republicans in the Senate and in the House have to say about this. Pick one Republican senator told the Hill quote, I would assume he's not real happy. I don't think Trump likes any discomfort. He can create discomfort himself, but he doesn't like external discomfort coming in. And j d's struggling, I would assume he's not real happy. Another one said it's pretty generally thought that it was his son and Tucker Carlson who talked him into it. I'm sure Susie Wiles and Chris La Cavita didn't because they've done so well up until this point in being able to widen Trump's appeal, uh, unforced errors. The senator said, another senator told the hill quote, even Trump is smart enough to say two white men on the Republican ticket in 2024 is a bad idea when you have really good alternatives and he has really good alternatives.

Tim Scott, I think Tim's number one, another Republican senator said quote, Trump would hate anything that brings him down, but he would never think he made a mistake. And I think that's the biggest part of that. If Donald Trump were to switch out JD Vance two weeks after officially picking him, it would basically be him admitting, I screwed up. This guy sucks. He's not doing it. He's a gaff machine. All of his past horrible statements are dragging us down, so I'm dumping him. Trump's never gonna do that. He, he has never in his life admitted he made a mistake even when he trashes the people that he had appointed the first time he was in the White House. He doesn't admit that it was a mistake. So he's never gonna do it. He is going to stick with JD Vance, he will ride it all the way down. And then if he loses in November, hopefully when he loses in November, he then has a scapegoat. And I think at this point that is JD Vance's. Biggest role for Donald Trump is not to really help his campaign, but when Trump loses, he can say, it's this guy's fault. Screw this guy. To hell with this guy. He is the reason I lost. Everybody

Needs to hate him. From this point forward, we will get some version of that message if Donald Trump loses. And of course there goes JD Vance's career he's done after this. If they don't win, Trump will pin it all on him. And that'll be the end of JD Vance as we know it. By the way, there's more fun quotes, another Republican senator said, youth has benefit, but experience matters too. More, more than two years before you ever run for the United States Senate, you ought to at least run for county sheriff. It sounds like it was a knockdown drag out fight until the decision was made.
