So over the weekend on Fox News, an interview aired, uh, between Donald Trump and of course Fox News host Mark Levin, where Donald Trump just straight up admitted to the very crime that he received a superseding indictment for just a week ago. Here is what Donald Trump had to say, take a listen.

Whoever heard you get indicted for interfering with a presidential election where you have every right to do it, you get indicted and you poll numbers go up When people get indicted, you poll numbers go down.

He had every right to do it, he says. So, I mean, there you go. DOJ uh, Donald Trump clearly admitting to doing the thing that you guys, again just issued a superseding indictment for him doing. I don't know what the holdup is at this point. Let's have the trial tomorrow because the guy won't stop confessing. In fact, you had democratic lawmakers, legal experts, and just average Twitter users out there tagging Manhattan District Attorney tagging the DOJ on social media explicitly saying, this man just confessed to the crime. And yes, it does seem very obvious that Donald Trump is confessing right there. However, I'm gonna have to throw a little bit of cold water on everybody right now thinking he just confessed, why are we not doing this? Because here's the thing. Trump is not going to go into court and argue that he didn't do the things.

What Trump is going to argue in court, just like he made the claim during that interview, is that yeah, he did them however he had the right to do it. So yes, this is an admission. I do believe fully the DOJ can and should use this claim in court against him. They should show the clips of that interview. It is very powerful for the DOJ to make their case. But it, it's not the same as like somebody accused of murder going out there being like, Hey, I had a right to kill this guy. Okay, well, in a case like that, there really is no gray area, alright? Murder is murder, few exceptions depending on your, backwards state laws here and there. But it's not like he was going into court arguing. He didn't do it because his entire legal argument, his defense is, I have the right to do this.

I was acting within my immune powers as the president of the United States. So this isn't necessarily the smoking gun that the media, the social media folks that everybody made it out to be. I mean, listen, Sunday and Monday, everywhere I looked online, this was the big story. It was the big story all over the political section of Reddit. They had about 20 different stories from 20 different sources. Every leftist, political, uh, news organization had this on their front page. But again, I I, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. It's not necessarily as bad as everyone is making it out to be when you factor in Donald Trump's legal defense. 'cause again, he's not arguing that he didn't do it. He's arguing that he did it, but it was within the confines of that immune power. And here, of course, is where Donald Trump does run into trouble with that.
