5:13Now PlayingTwo weeks ago, Donald Trump’s Truth Social stock had the worst week ever up to that point. But this past week was somehow even worse, with the stock bottoming out at less than $18 per share. Investors are now in full blown panic mode as the date that Trump can start selling his shares approaches, and they are worried that they’ll be left holding the worthless stock if Trump sells off any of his shares. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses the possible scenarios these investors are facing.

For the last six months, the s and p index, which of course involves looking at the stock market, you know, are there long-term growth? Is there long-term, term, uh, uh, falls. But for the last six months, the s and p says that the overall stock market has risen 16%, which is a good sign for the market. And it means that hey, stocks are doing really well during that same time period where the stock market overall has risen by 16%. The Trump media and technology group has seen their stock fall by more than 80%. So not all stocks are doing good right now. And in fact, this week, truth, social stock, which Trump media technology owns truth, social, it's just easier to say truth, social stock, um, they bottomed out. And the funny thing is, last week I did a video talking about how this is the worst week that truth social's ever had.
The stock bottomed out at like 20 bucks a share. Well, this week was somehow even worse than last week. And the stock hit below $18 per share. Remember when the stock first came out, hit 80 bucks per share, and Donald Trump's holdings in the company, 'cause he owns 59% of the shares, was valued at $6 billion. Now it's under $2 billion. Still a life changing amount of money, obviously, but you've lost over 67% of your value in this stock. That by the way, is not showing any signs of rebounding. In fact, it's getting so bad that the CEO Devin Nunes, former Republican congressman, uh, along with, uh, the CFO Philip Han, they both sold two and a half million dollars worth of their shares in the last few weeks. The rats are abandoning the sinking ship. Donald Trump still can't sell his stocks. He can sell them beginning on September 25th, which now that that day is just a couple weeks away, the remaining investors are terrified.
They are in full blown panic mode according to reports because they're trying to figure out what they do with their shares as the stock keeps plummeting. But as we get closer to the day when Trump can sell his stock, here's the issue. These investors can sell right now and likely lose a lot of their investment money, but still cash out and have a little bit left. If they do that, the stock is going to completely fall off a cliff and Trump shares become worth virtually nothing, which doesn't affect those investors if they pull out. But it would seriously off Donald Trump. The other thing they could do is just sit there and hold it, hoping that it goes back up. And then of course, you sell it for a high profit. You make a lot of money, everybody's happy.
But if you hold it, you run the risk of Donald Trump doing the same thing. September 25th rolls around. He can sell it. He realizes, okay, I'm not gonna get the 6 billion, but I can cash out now at maybe one and a half billion. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna sell all my shares. If Trump does that, he gets his payday, but the stock will go to zero, not full zero, but you know what I mean, it will tank and never come back. And then those investors who held onto it lose everything. So here's a game of chicken right now. Do we hold onto it and hope that Donald Trump also holds onto it? But then you run into another problem because if Trump loses in November, it doesn't matter if you've held onto it or not, the stock is gonna plummet because any value that the stock has is based on the possibility of Trump becoming the president again.
