Conservative commentator Charlie Sykes had some harsh words for Donald Trump on Monday following the convicted felon’s bonkers activities over the weekend. Sykes admitted that Trump’s mental problems are not only too big to ignore at this point, but also that they appear to be getting much worse. This is obvious to most people – except those that don MAGA gear and go to all of his rallies. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

Donald Trump's fantasies that he is creating due to his cognitive impairment have gotten so bad that even conservatives granted anti-Trump conservatives, but conservatives nevertheless are feeling the need to point it out. During an episode of Mourning Joe this week, conservative commentator Charlie Sykes, was shown a clip of Donald Trump in Michigan this past Friday where he once again boasted about winning a non-existent man of the Year award from the state of Michigan. And Charlie called this gibbering nonsense before, of course, going into a much longer explanation of how crazy Donald Trump is. But here's how it began. Joe Scarborough asked Charlie Sykes quote, he can't answer any questions on policy, and that is the madness of columnists. We, we talked about it last week, ringing their hands going, Kamala Harris needs to go deeper on quantitative easing. And then kicked it over to Sykes who said, the double standards are blatant here.

Ask him about the healthcare. He's working on a concept of a plan. This is gibbering nonsense. To step back a bit, I'm old enough to remember when Joe Biden's fitness for office, you know, being too old, his cognitive decline was a major issue. What are we seeing from Donald Trump on a daily basis? If that was a major issue in 2024? When did it stop being a major issue? When Donald Trump continues to do this? Also, you're right about his complete lack of specificity or knowledge or interest in policy. It's on display all the time, and yet we do have the media trying to figure out how do we cover this race? He continued, we know what he is doing. You mentioned before that Donald Trump lies, then he lies about his lies. I think the big question is whether or not his supporters have gotten to the point where they just don't care anymore.

I'm not sure that's the case with the majority of Americans, but he not only lies, but I think you have, and this is a dangerous moment. What happens when the American people understand that they're being lied to and they don't care? They're being lied to see? That is the question, isn't it? We know that Donald Trump lies all the time, right? The Washington Post, after he left, left office, put out that big article, you know, 25,000 lies that he had told just in the four years he was in office. We see him lie every day. He's lying as they started the clip with the Fake Man of the Year award from the state of Michigan, which again is not a thing. He just lies all the time for no reason. And his supporters, and we've seen this from, you know, surveys and focus groups, they don't think he's lying and that's the problem. Most of his supporters do not think these are lies. They think the media is lying when they say that he

Is lying. Like that is a problem that I don't know how to overcome. But what may be even worse are the people who say, yeah, I know he is lying to me, but I don't care. I like him. I like it anyway. I like that he is fundamentally incapable of telling the truth that that's a quality I want in a politician, because that's just crazy. Like there is no excuse for that. People thinking that, okay, well he said it so it must be true. He says the media lies, so when they say he's lying, they must be lying. I get that level of brainwashed that believe it or not, can be fixed, but the people who choose to understand that he is lying and vote for him anyway, that is a cult-like mentality that I don't know how to break, but it is something we're gonna have to deal with.
