Now that he is the President-elect, Donald Trump’s legal problems are likely over. There is little chance that Judge Merchan is going to continue with the planned sentencing for this month, and the other cases will likely see Trump pardon himself and move on. The Georgia case will be put on ice for four years, and at that point it may be too far gone to do anything. He has gotten away with it, as usual, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

Not even 24 hours. After the results came in on Tuesday evening, the Department of Justice basically announced that they were trying to figure out a way for Jack Smith to go ahead and end all of his prosecutions into Donald Trump and leave that position as special prosecutor before Donald Trump comes to office. So all of the prosecutions against Donald Trump are over. And that of course, is one of the biggest, uh, I guess, bummers with this election. Donald Trump essentially got away with it. Everything he was accused of, everything he was indicted for, he gets away with it. He will never, at this point, face justice for stealing classified documents. He will never face justice for trying to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Still a little bit shocking that even after doing that, the public said, yeah, put 'em back in. Insane, actually is the word I will use that the public did that, but they did it. And that's the world we live in. But we now also live in a world where we're sending a message, not just to the country, to the rest of the world. We're sending a message to our kids, to our grandkids that if you've got enough power, you can do whatever the hell you want. And on Tuesday, a majority of Americans decided that is who we want to be as a country.

That is what is so shocking to me. Now, I understood this obviously, that if Trump won, he's never gonna face comeuppance for any of these, uh, uh, trials, including by the way, the 34th felony convictions against him. Next week on November 12th, he is scheduled to have a hearing with Judge Juan Marshan, uh, where they are. Trump's lawyers attempting to get the entire case thrown out and get all the convictions thrown out. If he had lost that hearing, probably would've been 20 minutes. And Marshan would've said, get the hell outta here. I'll see you at sentencing. I'm firmly convinced right now though, that on November 12th, if the hearing even still happens, Marshan will throw out the charges and throw out the convictions, and Trump will no longer be a convicted felon by definition, or he'll cancel the hearing and go ahead and do that anyway. Trump will not have those convictions on his record. They will be gone. And again, that's just the sad reality in which we're living and we have to accept it because we cannot change that. Georgia obviously state case, Trump can't pardon himself for that the way he will for January 6th and the documents. But that case has already been delayed. It's in a semi-permanent delay at the moment. They will not, probably cannot prosecute him once

He takes the oath of oath of office, but I think oath of office is actually a pretty good slip of the tongue there. Um, and that'll, that'll fizzle out and die. It's over. He didn't just win the election. He won. He beat the justice system. I guess that's the way to say it. He beat the justice system 'cause he had enough money and power to do it. And that of course, is the message we're sending to our kids. Do whatever the hell you want, as long as you got the money and power to get yourself out of it. Not exactly the kind of message we wanna send to the younger generations or even the, any generation, but it's the message we've sent nevertheless.
