Republicans have only gotten more vicious and angry since the election, even though they won a clean sweep of the government. Rather than celebrating, they are fighting more than ever as they each try to claim a position of power for themselves by stabbing one another in the back. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

Never in my life have I seen a bigger group of sore winners than the Republicans following the 2024 election. They got the house, they got the Senate, they got the White House, and still these people are out there whining, crying, and of course fighting every single day because in spite of getting everything, it is still somehow not good enough for them. And that brings me to a viewer question from YouTube. User autism takes on. Who asks now that Trump won? Do you think the Republican infighting will stop, stay the same or get worse? And why? Um, it's going to get worse. And I say that because again, it's already gotten worse since they won everything. And the reason for that is because you have a finite amount of positions of power, and you have an entire party right now that appears to be just absolute power hungry.

So all of these little people that swear like I stood by Trump the longest I should get, these positions are now fighting backstabbing and of course, leaking things to the press about everybody else in Trump's orbit so that they look good, the people they're leaking on look bad and they get the position instead. We have seen a lot of that already involving Elon Musk, right? Reports, uh, leaks to the media, I should say, uh, about how, oh, Elon Musk is overstepping his bounds. He's pulling the strings on Donald Trump, treating him like a puppet, which of course is Donald Trump off, causing a bit of a rift, I think, between him and Elon Musk. So that is the infighting. That is what's happening because these people want those positions and they're willing to back stab everybody along the way in order to get those positions. Marjorie Taylor Greene has come out and said that Elon is just kind of a hanger on, you know, I, I've been with Trump since the beginning.

She wants a position in the cabinet. She has made that abundantly clear, and at least, you know, as of this recording, uh, she's not even being considered for anything. So that's gotta be a bit of a, uh, heartbreaker for her. We saw the infighting in the Senate, right? Donald Trump did not want a moderate mealy mouthed Republican to become the Senate leader. And oops, you got a moderate mealy mouth Republican that became the Senate leader. They wanted Rick Scott, Rick Scott flamed out hard, and there was infighting with that. So even though these people have everything they have ever wanted, it is not good enough and it never will be good enough, because they all want power, but there's only so much power to go around, and I think we're gonna see a lot more in fighting. Once the new Congress gets sworn in, you're gonna see Republicans, probably people

Like Marjorie Taylor Greene, maybe even Lauren Bobert trying to fight to get a, you know, good committee assignment, possibly be a committee chair so the infighting will get worse. And it also works to our advantage, right? Like if there's constant infighting with Republicans, if they can't get along with each other, it's gonna make it harder for them to be able to get some of the horrible things done that they want to get done. So we should all want the fighting to get worse because when they're fighting each other, they're not busy destroying the country.
