YouTube Description
as posted by the channelIn an entirely self-serving warning to consumers, major retailers across the country are telling people that they need to buy things NOW before Donald Trump comes into power and wrecks the entire economy. While the idea is obviously to get a surge in profits for major corporations, the warning does hold quite a bit of truth to it. The cost of basically EVERYTHING is going to go through the roof once Trump enacts his tariffs, so those big ticket purchases might be out of reach for millions of Americans in just a few months. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

In a completely self-serving warning to American consumers. Major retailers across the country are warning people that you need to buy stuff now before Donald Trump gets into office, puts his tariffs into place, and then suddenly you can't afford anything. So buy now. Spend all your money, give your money to us, the big corporations who sell you these things because you're not gonna be able to afford 'em. So again, a very self-serving message, right? They want your money, they want massive profits. They wanna offload the products that they have in their stores right now. This is absolutely them trying to make more money right now, but at the same time, their warnings are still accurate. Okay? We can call out corporate greed while also admitting that hey, yeah, they're trying to make a quick buck, but they're also making a valid point when Donald Trump comes into office.
I mean, the tariffs are coming, right? This is not something he is gonna back off of. As recently as 36 hours ago, he pledged to put a hundred percent tariffs on any of the, uh, you know, bricks, countries that don't use the dollar as their standard. So he's already pledging more and more tariffs, and that's the second time he proposed more tariffs in this last week. So the tariffs are coming and they're gonna be horrible. And yes, every economist out there is telling us they are going to wreck the economy. That is a thing that is going to happen. The prices on everything from gasoline for your car to the eggs exit the grocery store that y'all were also concerned about. All the prices are gonna go up. So again, back to the retailer's warnings, the prices of the things that you may need are going to go up.
Your dollar will buy you less. So that raises the question, should you buy things now or not? Well, I can't tell you what to do. I'm not a guy that's gonna sit here and give you personal financial advice. But here is what I will tell you from my own personal experience. My wife and I have been looking at washers and dryers 'cause we wanted to get new ones. Ours are very old. They suck. I hate them. So we've been looking, we priced them out, you know, earlier in the month of November. Uh, then we looked over this past weekend, the prices had gone down, uh, you know, for the big holiday sales. So we bought a washer and dryer that was delivered to my house and installed yesterday. And part of the reason I decided to go ahead and do that was not just because they were on sale, but because I did think to myself, well, the washer and dryer we have, we can, this will go another year or two if we want. But then when it's really time
To replace it, when they don't work at all, are we gonna be able to afford it? Is the price of this GE washing machine going to double in the next six to 12 months? I am, I'm not gonna take that chance. So we did buy those major appliances right now because I do not want to have to pay an exorbitant price because Donald Trump sucks at the economy. So I did make that decision partially based on the future prices. Companies in the last two weeks have been holding their, you know, shareholder calls, things like that, where they have talked about how, not if, but how they will raise prices in response to the tariffs. And I'm not just talking about, you know, a little local place. I'm talking about Walmart, target, TJ Maxx, AutoZone. All of these major national retailers are going to raise the prices because their prices will be raised.
