During an interview on the Benny Johnson show this week, Donald Trump's incoming border czar, Tom Homan said that he would gladly prosecute and arrest any Democrats out there. Any democratic state leaders, city leaders, doesn't matter. But he will prosecute you if you try to stop the mass deportation that is coming once Donald Trump. And of course, Holman himself take power in January. Here specifically is what Mr. Holman said. It's a felony. A felony. We will prosecute. I'm not going to be bullied. I'm not going away. He was specifically referring to what he called sanctuary states. And of course sanctuary cities, which are terms that Republicans love to throw around as havens for illegal migrants in this country. Oh, these people can live there without any fear of ever being deported, which for the record is not true. What these so-called sanctuary states or sanctuary, uh, city, uh, say, excuse me, which by the way is based in legal precedent, is this, we will not allow our local law enforcement officers to assist federal agents when they come in to do deportations. That's what that is. So for years and years, I'm sure you've all heard the word, sanctuary city. Sanctuary state. That's all it is. It's these cities saying, Hey, listen, if you wanna come in and deport people, you can come in and deport people. What we're not gonna do is devote our city's limited resources to helping you.

You know, deportations are a federal thing, so if y'all wanna do it, do it, but you're not gonna use my people to do it. You're not gonna use my money to do it. That's it. That is what it is. And so many people think that a sanctuary city means that if somebody who's in the country illegally runs across the border into the city and they're like, ha ha, you can't touch me. That's not true. That is not true anywhere in this country. But it doesn't matter to people like Holman 'cause he is out there threatening you, get in my way and I will prosecute you for this felony that you have co uh, committed. Even though again, it is perfectly legal and there is court precedent for cities to refuse to give their aid in these deportations. Nothing stops the federal from going in there and deporting people. And Holman, I, I hope, understands that.

But I think what he's trying to do is just send a warning or at least talk a little tough. He is trying to let these individual cities, these democratic mayors, maybe even democratic governors, know, we're coming to your state and if you stand in my way, I will throw your in jail. I'm the sheriff around these parts. Right? He's talking tough when he doesn't even need to. He's trying to make himself look a little bigger and badder than he actually is, because borders are, by the way, is not an official position. Tom Holman is not going to actually have any constitutional authority. None, unless of course he wants to go through a senate confirmation process and become a, a leader of a government agency. But right now Trump's just saying, you know what? You're my border guy. That that's not an actual position in the federal government. So it therefore has no actual power. And I think that's what really gets to Holman so he can threaten these people all he wants. The truth is the law is on their side and he has no enforcement mechanisms whatsoever at his disposal.
