Trump doesn’t want the public to think he made a mistake, so he bashed the Post, calling them “fake news” and saying that they were lying about the horrible things he definitely still wants to do. On Monday of this week, the Washington Post reported based on three anonymous sources close to Donald Trump, that Donald Trump was actually considering backing off his universal tariff plan, which economists on both the left and right politicians on both the left and right and pundits on both the left and right have all been warning is gonna be devastating for the country. So the Washington Post again, they're like, Hey, Donald Trump is now considering not doing universal tariffs and just kind of picking and choosing which industries could face tariffs. So there would still be some price increases, but it wouldn't be across the board. So it actually wouldn't be as bad. Th this was actually a kind of positive story about Donald Trump. So you would think Trump would like it, right? You know, like, Hey, this is actually not a bad story. People are kind of happy that it's not gonna be universal tariffs. It's only gonna be a few, but nope. Donald Trump is furious that the Washington Post suggested he might do something not terrible, and he went out on truth social and had a meltdown saying, quote the story in the Washington Post, quoting so-called anonymous sources, which don't exist incorrectly, states that my tariff policy will be paired back. That is wrong. The Washington Post knows it's wrong. It's just another example of fake news.

News. You know, you could have just let people have a little bit of hope. It wasn't a negative story. It was like, Hey, this horrible thing that Trump is gonna do, maybe he's not gonna do it. Right? That's a good thing. People liked it. But then you come out and you're like, oh hell no, y'all, I'm definitely doing the horrible thing. Don't you dare let anybody tell you otherwise. These liars out there saying, I'm gonna be good. You're insane. Like you're, you're insane. You're just literally insane. In my opinion. There is no other way to say that.

You had the out right there. You had the opportunity to maybe give people a little bit of hope that the next four years are not gonna be as horrific as everybody is predicting, but instead, your dumb had to come out and say that, Nope, they're lying. I'm absolutely not pairing back the tariffs. They're coming and we're all screwed. That's what that means. It means we're all screwed. So if you ever see the media reporting that maybe Donald Trump's not gonna be as bad as we think, just know that's probably not gonna happen, because he gets mad when they report that he might do something half good. He gets mad when they report that he might do something bad. He gets mad when they report on him in general, apparently. Doesn't matter if it's good or bad, I guess nobody's allowed to talk about Donald Trump without sending this giant man toddler into full-blown tantrum mode.
