as posted by the channel

President Barack Obama has been out of office for over 8 years, but that hasn’t stopped the conspiracy theories claiming that he was never a United States citizen. Marjorie Taylor Greene decided to rebirth the birther conspiracy over the weekend, claiming that a new video showed proof that Obama’s birth certificate was fake. The only problem is that the video was also 8 years old and didn’t provide any actual evidence that the certificate was not authentic. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what happened.

It has been over eight years since Barack Obama exited the White House as former President Barack Obama over eight years. So you would think having, you know, basically we're on our third administration now since Obama left office, you would think that maybe those birther conspiracies would just kind of go away, right? They're, they're totally irrelevant because he's not the president and he's not running the Democratic party. He's not running for anything. He is private citizen, former President Barack Obama. But if you think that you'd be wrong, because over the weekend, Marjorie Taylor Greene decided to rehash the birther conspiracies. And, uh, she apparently got duped by a video that much like Obama's administration was also over eight years old. Greene got on Twitter, saw an eight plus year old video of Sheriff Joe Arpaio from Arizona, claiming without any evidence that Obama's birth certificate was fake.

It was an hour long video that again, provided no evidence to suggest that his birth certificate was fake. And on this weekend, in the year 2025, almost nine years after that video was originally posted, green reshared it and said quote, oh, this is great. Obama's birth certificate was fraudulent, but it wasn't. And the video didn't even come close to showing that. And I also have to question why is that? Ooh, this is great, right, like, why is that great? What does it do? Here's what gets me about this. Let, let's take a moment. First of all, we know that these Republicans, like Marjorie Taylor Greene, are pushing this conspiracy because it's very racist. And so are they, right? Let, let's get that outta the way, right off the top. They're doing it because a black man was president. They don't like black men in power, and this is how they respond. That's what happened during the Obama years, and apparently eight years later, it's still happening. But bear with me for a second here, folks. Let's assume that Sheriff Joe all those years ago was right, okay? Obama was not born in this country, let's say we're able to prove that right now today, okay? Obama was not born in this country.

What happens then? No, that, that's my legitimate question. Like, okay, then what happens? What do we do? He already served as president, right? He served two terms. He, he can't even run again. So what, what would we do? Okay, do, do you follow me on this, Marge, if this video, that of course is not true, but if it were true,

What would that do for the country, right? Like we, we put Obama in jail, I guess, but it doesn't change the fact that he was already the president for eight years. And, uh, he did things, he did some good things, he did some not so good things, but it, it's over, right? We're not, what are we gonna kick him out of office? Are we gonna deport him? I'm sure you want to, but do you see how stupid it is once you start to pick these things apart? Which is why I love to pick apart these Republican conspiracy theories, because we're talking about a conspiracy theory that now is what, uh, uh, uh, 17 years old. 'cause it started when he first ran for office, 17 years old. And we're still pushing it today for a man that's been out of office for over eight years.
