YouTube Description
as posted by the channelDuring a House hearing this week, Lauren Boebert made a comment so incredibly stupid that members of Congress and the entire audience were left stunned speechless. Boebert said that since Liberals have such a problem with “Gulf of America” then maybe we should rename Washington, D.C. to “Washington, District of America.” The bonehead Boebert has no idea how DC actually got its name, and no one even knew how to respond to this level of stupid. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Republican representative Lauren Boebert loves to remind people that she did not graduate from high school. And I, I, I think her, her real message to people is, look at me and stay in school. Although I don't think she's ever said that she's really showing people that that's what you need to do. And during a house hearing on Monday, by the way, this is an issue that kind of got buried because let's face it, a lot of bigger news happened throughout the entire week. But I'm not gonna let this go because we need to be aware of how just grossly stupid, the people who actually lead our country and write our laws truly are. So here's what happened during this hearing. Lauren Bobert, for some reason, decided I'm not happy about Democrats telling jokes about the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of America. Like, that's not cool.
So Bobert says this, I would caution my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to refrain from making jokes about the Gulf of America, because next up, maybe the District of America that we are working on, so Washington DC would become Washington DA because it's the District of Columbia, and she says, maybe it's gonna be a District of America. Maybe we're not gonna be named after the country of Columbia anymore. You dumb asses. Now I'm hoping everybody watching this understands why that's such a stupid statement. But if not, and I'll forgive you if you don't. Um, let me explain this to you, district of Columbia, it's not named after the country of Columbia. It's not named after Columbia University that Republicans also hate. It's it's named after Christopher Columbus. That's actually, that's actually where they got the name Columbus. They didn't want to use the male version of the name.
So they used the feminine version of the name Columbia created, you know, the Goddess Columbia, who is not a real goddess. Um, which by the way, Tom Hartman, uh, in a, in a conversation we had one time, explained all this to me is a fascinating conversation. Um, and I would love for Tom Hartman to, you know, just tell that whole story to his audience if he hasn't already, even if he has, it's a phenomenal story. He's the smartest human being on the planet. So, just a big shout out to Tom Hartman, who I, I I love dearly. He is the best of the best, but it's District of Columbia, because it's the female version of the name Columbus. It's not named after foreign country. It's not named after a university. It's, it's literally named after the guy who, uh, you know, has been credited even though he didn't, with, you know, founding the United States. Um, and again, that's not
At all how it happened, but that's how most of us were taught in school, only to learn the truth later on. So anyway, that's what it is. And when Bobert came out with this statement, like maybe we renaming the District of America the entire hearing, including the people out there in the audience, including the witnesses, all of the members of Congress left and right next to her, stunned silence. Nobody knew what to say. Nobody knew how to react to this level of stupidity because again, I can forgive the average everyday person. Probably never even been to DC not knowing that story. But if you're working there, kind of feel like that's a thing you should know. But Bobert isn't ashamed of her ignorance. She's not ashamed of her stupidity. And yes, there is a world of difference between those two things, but she has both and she's proud of them. She's proud to be dumb. She's proud to be outspoken when she is so clearly wrong. She thinks being uninformed is a virtue.
