And it isn’t just the moderate senators, either. Even staunch Trump allies like Tommy Tuberville are sounding the alarm bells about how badly the tariffs are going to hurt his own state. So Donald Trump's so-called Liberation day, which was really tariff day was yesterday, and Republicans in the Senate were not happy. And I'm not talking about the usual suspects, right? Like Susan Collins or Lisa Murkowski. It's not the moderates, well, not just the moderates. It's uh, even people like Tommy Tuberville, who has been one of Donald Trump's staunchest allies in the Senate since he came into office. So Donald Trump held a big party for his liberation day, and these Republicans decided we're not gonna go. In fact here is what they said. When asked prior to the event, how they felt about tariffs. And of course, Donald Trump's celebratory party, uh, Republican Senator Ron Johnson, big Trump ally by the way, said it's a high risk move on his part. I don't know what his strategy is, but look at what the market's reaction is. I have a similar reaction.

I'm concerned, okay, well, way to take a strong stand there, buddy. Uh, but like, I don't know what is, he has no plan, okay? He has no goal. There is no like set thing that has to happen in order for these tariffs to not go into effect other than the United States annex in Canada. So that's not gonna happen. So there's, there's no other real goal. 'cause he's given us like seven or eight different goals at this point. So Ron Johnson saying, I'm confused, don't worry everybody is, because nothing that Trump is doing makes any sense at all. Then you had Republican senator Tom Tillis, who sarcastically told reporters every day is a reason for celebration. Yeah, thanks. Ior, Tommy Tuber. Phil had this to say my people back in Alabama, you know, they're all concerned about car tariffs, all those parts. We have seven car manufacturers in our state. So you got parts that are coming in, it's gonna raise prices. Prices are gonna come up.

And he's right, like, I mean, for the first time ever, I can say Tommy Tuberville is right. Here's the thing. There is not a single automobile in the United States that is 100% made with American products on American soil. There's not one. Every car you drive, even the ones built here in America, there are pieces, components in that car that are imported from other countries. There isn't a single one that is 100% American made products in an American made, finished product. Not one. Okay? So every car is gonna have a piece on them that is subjected to the tariffs. Every car is gonna have its price go up. It's gonna depend on how many foreign parts are in that car, but they're all going to go up

And tuberville as dumb as he is, dumbest person in the Senate, probably dumbest person in all of Congress. Uh, he gets that and he is out there saying, I, I, I'm, I'm concerned. So when you have somebody that is as staunch of a Trump ally, as Tuberville is saying, I don't like this, I'm concerned that's a problem for Trump because these tariffs are here, they're in effect. And once the effects of those tariffs being in effect, starts to hit actual consumers, there will be backlash. And its backlash that these Republicans understand is coming against them. They control the house, they control the Senate, they control the White House, they control the judiciary. They have everything under their power, and this is what they've done with it. Roll over and let Donald Trump tank the economy. The voters are probably not gonna be too happy about that in November, 2026, which could make Donald Trump's last two years in office, the lamest of lame duck sessions ever.
