Donald Trump was in full blown panic mode on Wednesday, as he got on Truth Social and fired off a series of posts about how amazing the economy is doing in a matter of minutes. Trump was widely mocked all across the internet for his panic attack, and some even pointed out that he sounded like he was making a pathetic sales pitch as a used car salesman as he begged foreign companies to come into the United States. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what happened.

Donald Trump apparently woke up in a panic on Wednesday morning over the fact that his tariffs are not just tanking the US economy, but also tanking his poll numbers to the point where it is now predicted that Democrats are gonna make gains that make the 2018 blue wave look like a leaky faucet. So Trump decided to wake up, and it's starting at 7:44 AM Eastern time. He got on truth social and made a sales pitch, I guess you would call it. And it was so cringe worthy that it actually caused one conservative commentator to say that it sounded like a bad used car salesman. But here is how Donald Trump started the morning in just one of seven rapid fire posts. He said, quote, this is a great time to move your company into the United States of America like Apple and so many others in record numbers are doing zero tariffs and almost immediate electrical energy hookups and approvals.

No environmental delays. Don't wait. Do it now. And yeah, that, that sounds like a really, really bad infomercial for, I don't know, oxyclean, maybe no offense to Oxyclean, but don't wait. Do it now. And if you're one of the first 30 companies to come to the United States, you also get one free insider trading pass, right? That, that, that's what our country has become. Just nothing but a, a pitchman for companies to come over here and do more expensively what they could do overseas. That's the problem. Companies for decades have been incentivized to move their factories, whatever it is overseas because the labor is so cheap, moving it back here is gonna cost them more money, probably more money than they would save versus the tariffs, right? So they don't have the incentive to do it. The only way to do that is to basically get rid of all legal protections for workers and then the companies could exploit them, and we would be far worse off for it.

There's no real good outcome for this because the system has been in place for decades, and it's kind of rooted in stone right now. Unfortunately, if we had been proactive as a country, not allowed the deregulation of Aaron, uh, of Reagan, excuse me, not allowed, you know, the horrible trade deals that happened under the Clinton and George W. Bush administrations, we wouldn't be in this situation, but we are now, and it's gonna take more than just some tariffs to get us out of it, which Trump doesn't seem to understand. But then just a few moments later, he simply posted on True social, make America great again. Okay? Then a few moments after that, he said, Republicans, it is more important now than ever that we pass the one big beautiful bill. The USA will soar like never before.

Now all of those were in a matter of minutes from each other. And this is the same guy who earlier in the week told Republicans don't be a panicking. Uh, which he said is a weak you know, pathetic individual. But that's exactly what he looks like here. He's making a sales pitch, he's begging Republicans. And then 16 minute later, uh, 16 minutes later, excuse me, he says, it is imperative that Republicans in the house pass the tax cut bill. Now our country will boom, no, that's actually gonna hasten the recession. 27 minutes later, he said, uh, quoting Jamie Diamond who said fixing trade and tariffs is a good thing. Jamie Diamond, JP Morgan Chase chairman, and CEO on Maria BI show. So now he's being a pitch man for Fox News. That's, that's wonderful for the president of the United States. Also, Jamie Diamond said that the tariffs are horrible he, he didn't put that part in there. Jamie Diamond is off about these, but furthermore, nobody cares what Jamie Diamond has to say. Then eight minutes later he says, be cool. Everything is going to work out well. The USA will be bigger and better than ever before.
