According to CNN's data guru Harry Ton, Donald Trump just got the worst polling data of his life. And for the record, he didn't just get it from one poll. The one poll that Ton was talking about, he got it from three separate conservative polls also released within the last week. But Harry Anton, again of CNN specifically, was talking about a recent CBSU gov poll that came out this week that showed that a majority of the public now squarely blames Donald Trump for the current state of the economy. Even though Donald Trump loves to tell us that, Hey, this is all Biden's fault. It was that last guy. It's totally not me. For the first time in Trump's presidency, a majority of voters no longer believe that here is what the data found. Back in November, 42% of those people polled said that the economy was getting worse. That number jumped to 49% in February, and for the month of March it was 51%.
Now it's 53% saying the economy is getting worse. Back in March, 34% of people blame Trump for the state of the economy, while 38% blamed Biden. Today, 54% blame Trump for the economy and only 21% blame Biden. Here is what Inten said about this data. I would argue this is the worst set of polling data that Donald Trump has had in his entire second term as president. In part because the CBS news u gov poll that came out yesterday has been one of his best. The majority of Americans think the economy is getting worse. It's an 11 point jump from November to now. And of course, Donald Trump won the 2024 election because he promised to fix the economy, and yet views of the economy are going down. The percentage of those who say it's getting worse are going up. Donald Trump wants to say, don't blame me if you're upset with the state of the economy. Blame the other guy. I don't think Americans are buying what he is selling at this point.
Yeah, I mean that, that's what the data show. You don't have to say you think that because the data literally shows that people are not buying that argument. And the best thing about it is that number, the number of people who blame Trump for the economy is not going to get better for him if the economy stays bad, fewer and fewer people are gonna blame Biden for it. So again, if it stays bad, the number of people blaming Trump is only going to go up. There is no way that is going to reverse. Right? Um, the poll also showed that Donald Trump has an approval rating of negative 6%. He has six points underwater between his approval and disapproval ratings. Now, that's just what Inten was telling us about. As I mentioned, three other conservative
Polls also came out this week that were officially Donald Trump's worst polls with these conservative pollsters possibly ever. The first one is TIPP insights, uh, conducted for the League of American workers came out Sunday. It showed that 50% of registered voters disapprove of the job Trump is doing 43% approve. So net negative seven point or, or or or negative seven approval rating, right? Negative seven in a conservative leaning poll. Rasmussen even more right-leaning found that, uh, 50% of likely voters disapprove of Trump's job performance while 48% approve. So that one's only negative too, but that was also only of likely voters of a, of all Americans that found that 52% disapprove of his tariff plans and 43% approve. So on tariffs, Donald Trump's biggest issue, even bigger than immigration. Apparently in this conservative poll, a majority of people disapprove. Uh, RMG research also right-leaning, uh, found that he has a net approval rating of plus 1%, 49% approved, 48% disapprove.
