The IRS got a new Commissioner this past Tuesday, but by Friday he had already been fired by Donald Trump. Apparently there was a bit of a power struggle happening behind the scenes, and chaos from inside of Trump World led to the firing. As usual, the drama began because Elon Musk overstepped his authority to get Gary Shapley installed as the Commissioner, which didn’t sit well with the people who are actually in charge. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains what’s happening.

On Friday, acting commissioner of the IRS, Gary Shapley was fired, and Shapley had only been on the job since Tuesday. So he worked about a half a day on Tuesday after getting the position. He worked Wednesday, he worked Thursday, and when he went in on Friday, he was fired. Maybe he got a couple hours in, I don't know. But either way, that is only three working days that this man was on the job before the Trump administration decided, you know what? This just isn't working out. Goodbye. And as we all know, famously from Donald Trump's first administration, Anthony Scaramucci served only 10 days in his position. He was then let go. So ever since then, everybody's been talking about Scaramucci as a length of time, but now we have a guy that lasted less than half a scaramucci. So I think at this point, unfortunately, we're going to have to retire Scaramucci as a timeframe and replace it with Shapley.

Shapley, of course, are now three days a scaramucci, if you still want to use it, I guess it's 10 days. But three days before Donald Trump, who only hires the best people, was fired. And the reason he was fired is actually kind of dumb, not dumb, because he shouldn't have been fired. He absolutely should have been. He's the guy who emerged a couple years ago as the so-called IRS whistleblower, you know, in the Hunter Biden case that went nowhere. So that's why he got the position to begin with. But what happened behind the scenes shows you the chaos and turmoil, and of course, the assumption of power by Elon Musk. Let me read you this. Treasury Secretary Scott Besant reportedly complained to Donald Trump, that White House advisor, Elon Musk went behind Besant's back to get Shapley installed. The IRS commissioner reports to the Treasury secretary, deputy Treasury Secretary, Michael Falconer has been named as the replacement and is the fifth commissioner the agency has had since January 20th. Trump has nominated former representative, Billy Long as Commissioner, but the Senate Finance Committee has yet to hold a hearing on the nomination. So Elon Musk, an unelected person in the government, a special government employee went behind the treasury, secretary's back hires this guy, even though Elon Musk has no authority to do that, but he did it anyway. And then dissent Treasury Secretary goes to Trump like, Hey man, uh, this is my department. Why is your guy

Picking people to run my agencies? That's that's not okay. That's not how the government works. And so Trump said, yeah, I guess you right. And he fired him. Elon Musk is an absolute threat to this country. Even Trump's own administration is sick of this guy. They cannot stand him. They do not like the uh, uh, you know, usurpation of power. But that is what is happening. Elon Musk is the guy making these decisions. The world's wealthiest man is effectively running the government of the United States for his own personal benefit. He is getting government contracts. He's actually the front runner to get a new government contract to build Donald Trump's Golden Dome Missile Defense System. He is putting the people he wants in charge, even though nobody in this country voted for Elon Musk to be the guy to make the decisions.
