4:30Now PlayingThe country of Vietnam has decided to sidestep their own country’s laws in order to give Donald Trump fast track approval of a $1.5 billion real estate deal that he’s been working on. This move is nothing short of a bribe, as Vietnam is doing this in order to avoid getting tariffs placed on goods from their country coming into the United States. And since Trump is open to being wholly corrupt, he’ll likely go for it, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

Like so many other countries across the globe, Vietnam has decided that they are going to just openly bribe Donald Trump in order to avoid his wrath in his trade war. The Trump administration, as we all know, wants tariffs on everyone, everything from everywhere. It doesn't matter. We wanna put tariffs on you because that's the only word that Donald Trump seems to know and Vietnam understands that, Hey, listen, we make a lot of goods here that gets shipped to the United States. If there are tariffs on the goods coming from our country, it's going to hurt our economy. But we don't have a lot to offer, right? Like we can't just put a ton of money in Donald Trump's pocket buying his meme coin. So what can we do to help grease the wheels and avoid any repercussions here? Well, the government of Vietnam decided, wait a minute, we actually do have a way to do that.
You see, Donald Trump has been in negotiations to, uh, build a one and a half billion dollar resort right outside of Hanoi. And typically the process for approval, because you gotta go through all the environmental reviews, you have to get public comment, all of that typically takes at least two years. And the Trump, uh, organization just filed their paperwork two months ago. So, oh God, you got like 22 months at least before you're done. And Vietnam said, you know what? Screw it. Approved break ground. And the Trump organization broke ground last Wednesday on this one and a half billion dollar resort that's going up in Vietnam. And Vietnam, of course, is very open about the fact that yeah, we did it 'cause we don't want the tariffs. So there are effectively admitting like, yeah, the guy seemed like he was open to bribes. We've seen what other countries have done. We just did the same thing. Yeah, we sidestepped our own country laws and our, our countrymen and women are of course super off at us, but it may save us from the tariffs, which would save our economy by letting him do this.
Everybody friend and foe alike. And Vietnam is a friend, don't get me wrong. They know how to work Trump. And let me make this crystal clear, folks, this in no way benefits the United States of America, right? If there was any kind of Vietnams taking advantage of us on trade type thing happening, Trump was, uh, exempting them from the trade war because they gave him property that doesn't help us. So either he's lying about his rationale for the trade war, or he's being honest, he's just willing to sell us out so that he can have a property that I guarantee you will be bankrupt in two to three years, right?
No offense to Vietnam, but, um, you don't exactly have a lot of wealthy tourists around the globe clamoring to get to Vietnam. And I, again, I don't mean that insultingly, it's just a fact. And even if you have like one really cool resort, even though Trump's resorts are not places wealthy people actually enjoy going, um, that's not gonna change that. So Trump's gonna get his $1.5 billion property again. It'll be bankrupt in two to three years, maybe four to five, but within five years it'll be defunct. It'll be up for sale and it'll fall to ruin. That's what's going to happen. Mark my words. Come back, watch this video five years from now, and I guarantee you that will have happened or we'll be in the process of happening. But everybody has Trump's number. They know how to get exactly what they want from him. 'cause all you gotta do is put a little money in his pocket. Give him a big old favor, let him build a resort, and then you can get whatever you want from this simpleton sitting in the White House.
