4:14Now PlayingPresident Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act had all sorts of subsidies, tax incentives, and direct investments for clean energy technology and development throughout the country, with the vast majority of those benefits going to Red States. Republicans in the House killed ALL of these programs in their version of the budget bill because they believed it was the “green new scam.” Their own states will lose millions, and possibly even billions, of dollars as a result of this, and they don’t even seem to care. Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

It seems like every day we are finding out something new and far more horrible than the day before about the Republican budget bill, which of course has passed the house and is still being deliberated in the Senate. And one of the things we learned this week about this big, horrible bill is that it is going to screw over red states far worse than it's going to screw over blue states. Now, technically, that's not even that surprising, right? I mean, I've talked repeatedly about how a lot of the provisions, the cuts to Medicaid, the cuts to food stamps, those are gonna impact negatively red states more than they do blue states. But there's another way that this video, uh, excuse me, this bill, uh, uh, screws over Republicans more than it does Democrats because Republicans have made sure to include a provision that strips away all, all of the clean energy investments, incentives, and tax breaks that President Biden signed into law in the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act.
So how is it that taking away all these tax breaks, direct investments and incentives, hurts red states more than blue states? Are they more reliant on renewable energy? The answer is actually, yeah. Yeah, they are. But more importantly, they're also the states where the clean energy is being produced and the factories that make the things to produce clean energy are located in red states. So by stripping this funding and the tax breaks and the incentives and all of that, the subsidies stripping that from the federal government's payroll is going to create massive job losses in red states.
It's going to reduce the amount of clean energy in red states, which is going to drive up the cost of other energy. 'cause you're no longer gonna have any options. It's going to screw Republicans and the Republicans choosing to do this to their hometowns in some instances. Don't give a because as they tell us, this was all part of the green new scam, it's a scam that we added a couple hundred jobs in my district with a new factory producing prop, uh, propeller blades for wind turbines. It's a scam that my state is now producing batteries. It's a scam that my state is now producing solar panels and we're taking that money away because that's what you folks want, right?
You, you wanna lose your job, you wanna pay more for electricity. That's what the Republicans seem to think. You wanna breathe dirtier air because we're burning more fossil fuels. This is the most as backwards party in existence today. But on top of that, and probably even more importantly, this is a party based on pure cruelty. There is no reason to do this other than Biden is the guy that signed it and he's a Democrat. So we're gonna take it away. We're gonna screw over our own constituents, make them lose their jobs just because we can't let Democrats have a good thing go down in the history books. So remember that Republicans in red states, when you lose your jobs, Democrats didn't do that to you. Democrats created those jobs. Republicans are the ones taking them away from you.
