YouTube Description
as posted by the channelFlorida Attorney General James Uthmeier is proposing the creation of a new ICE detention facility deep in the heart of the Everglades on an island surrounded by the massive swampland. The plan is being called “Alligator Alcatraz” with the idea being that migrants can’t escape because they’ll be eaten by the wildlife. This is beyond cruel to the point that even Florida Republicans aren’t jumping behind it, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

While most of the country is of course, rightfully focused on what Donald Trump is currently doing in the Middle East, marching us towards World War iii. Here in the state of Florida, our state government has other people in their sites. They're not worried about the Iranians. No, no, no, no. They're still more worried about undocumented migrants who of course make up an insane amount of Florida's workforce. Without them, we would be screwed here. But our attorney general for the State of Florida, man by the name of James Meyer, has proposed building an ice detention facility for what he calls criminal aliens in the middle of the Everglades. And he wants to call it alligator Alcatraz. Here is what Meyer said in a video posted on social media this past weekend, efficient, low cost opportunity to build a temporary detention facility because you don't need to invest that much into the perimeter. People get out, there's not much waiting for them other than alligators and pythons. Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.
He then said that the facility would sit on the already constructed runway in the Everglades, hold more than 1000 beds, and be surrounded by the Everglades. So basically, you know, Alcatraz except not on an island in the middle of a bay, this one would be in the swamp. So that way, if any of these people whose only crime is the misdemeanor crime of coming into the country as an undocumented person, if they try to leave the facility, we're gonna hope that they either get strangled and choked by a python or eaten by an alligator.
This is not the onion, this is not parody, this is not satire. This is legitimately what the attorney General of the state of Florida has proposed. And he said that after construction we'll be ready to start receiving people in 30 to 60 days. This is utter insanity. I cannot stress enough that coming into the United States illegally is a misdemeanor similar to an elevated traffic offense. You know, if you get caught kind of, you know, driving like 30, 40 miles over the speed limit, you're gonna get a harsher punishment or you, you're supposed to under the law than coming into the country illegally. And yet this guy wants to put people in danger in one of the hottest parts of the state during the hottest part of the year because he wants to see somebody get ripped to shreds by an alligator. This is where we're at
In this country. This is the level of hatred that these people have towards migrants. This isn't about justice. This isn't about cracking down on immigration. This is about the cruelty. They want people to die more than we're already seeing because let's be honest, we're already seeing people die in ice custody. Another report of that came out just this past weekend. This is what they want and this is what they're probably going to get.
