4:44Now PlayingRecent reports have suggested that the FBI was directed by the Department of Justice to “flag” any and all mentions of Donald Trump that were in the Epstein files (that simultaneously don’t exist, according to the DOJ.) These allegations have prompted Democratic Senator Dick Durbin to demand answers from both the FBI under Kash Patel and the DOJ under Pam Bondi to find out what actually happened. This scandal just keeps getting worse for Trump as the days drag on, as Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins explains.

According to recent reports, Pam Bondi, the attorney general controlling the Department of Justice, instructed cash Patel's, FBI to comb through all of the Epstein files that are currently in a Schrodinger's box, state of both existing and not existing, um, combed through all the files and flag any mention of Donald Trump. That, of course, is what has been reported. It has not yet necessarily been substantiated or corroborated, however, that's what the latest reports suggest. So Democratic Minority Whip, Dick Durbin in the US Senate decided that he wanted some answers to the res, uh, these reports, because if they're true, obviously that's a big deal. If this administration is engaged in a coverup that's even bigger than the coverup they're already engaged in, we deserve to know a thing or two. Right? So Durbin sent three letters this past Friday, one to Pam Bondi, the Attorney General one to Cash Patel, director of the FBI, and one to Dan Bonino, the deputy director of the FBI, who was so mad about the Epstein files that he skipped work a couple Fridays ago, to the point where Trump's White House staffers actually called CNN to find out if they knew if Bonino had quit.
But he sent them the letters saying, my office was told that these personnel were instructed to flag any records in which President Trump was mentioned. Why were personnel told to flag records in which President Trump was mentioned? What happened to the records mentioning President Trump once they were flagged? And of course, NBC News describes it as this, uh, Durbin questioned Bondy about contradictions in her public statements on the case, Patel, about reports that he was pressured by Bondi to place 1000 personnel on 24 hour shifts to mine, roughly 100,000 Epstein related records. And he asked Bongino about reported disputes among Trump officials about the lack of transparency in their handling of the high profile case, specifically to Bondi. Durbin asks, why did you publicly claim on February 21st that the client list was sitting on my desk right now to review if it was not a client list?
What was sitting on your desk at the moment? And he asked Patel, what are the conspiracy? Oh, actually, let me read you the quote first. Now, on July 12th, after all this started, you know, two days, I think after it started, Kash Patel went out and said, the only thing he has said about this publicly, he put out on Twitter. He said, the conspiracy theories just aren't true. Never have been so Durbin kind of being a little bit of a smart. But I liked it, asked Patel quote, what are the conspiracy theories you are referring to in your July 12th tweet that were never true? If there are more than one, please explain each in detail.
I love it because again, it's a very smart thing to do, which I happen to love kind of a bit of a smart myself. So I love, I love the tone, I love the attitude, and I love the fact that you actually are still asking real questions that deserve real answers. And you are keeping this alive. This is destroying Donald Trump mentally, physically, politically, like this is just Donald Trump's kryptonite apparently, and it's the funniest thing to watch. And while funny, yes, this is also a very serious issue, a serious issue to which we deserve serious, real, honest answers. Unfortunately, we will not get these answers that we need from this administration. They're gonna continue to try to distract us with investigations into Obama and Hillary Clinton. And yes, if you haven't seen those segments, that is a thing happening.
