Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has now announced that she's cutting a lot of the oversight organizations for ICE detention.

We are at a point now where we've had at least 12 deaths in ICE custody that we know of. The number could be even higher than that. And at this point, Kristi says, listen, we don't need these three watchdog agencies looking over our shoulder doing reporting, telling people when other folks are dying. So they've effectively cut not one, not two, but three of the watchdog agencies that are looking over her shoulder. And this is a trend once again happening throughout the federal government, getting rid of the watchdogs. Elon Musk got rid of seven different watchdog agencies, five of which were investigating his very companies when he got rid of them. So this is a continuation of that. But this is one that directly impacts human lives because we have a right to know about the conditions under which these people are being held, which are horrific from what we know and when they die from these conditions, which is happening far too frequently. We're six months in, two people a month are on average are dying, that we know of.

Well, and to that number, that 12 number, that's more than the entire year previous. So we're already at our number for the whole year, and we're halfway through the year. It's obviously higher deaths, higher detention, and yet you're removing the safeguards and the oversight. She states that it's going to make it more efficient, which of course, they don't want oversight. Right? We've seen that, as you pointed out across the government. This is just another attack because Noem, the Trump acolytes, don't want people saying that you have to follow the law.

And another point about this too is that we have this system in place for a reason. Whether it's the watchdog agencies that Trump is funding down to zero, and some of these watchdogs are being funded to zero. That's how they're cutting 'em. They're in place for a reason, because it's a necessity because we do have people that are under conditions that can easily get them killed. A lot of the people that have died in ICE custody this year are not previously elderly and or infirm. They are normal, healthy, seemingly fine middle-aged people. We have had people in their thirties that have dropped dead in these ICE facilities. People that did not have a history of any documented health problems. So the conditions are that bad that these people are dying when otherwise, if they had not been in ICE, these people would be alive.

And this is a big deal, right? This is a human rights issue. This is the kind of thing where if we heard about it on the news happening in another country, we'd be planning an invasion to go liberate these people. That's what we would be doing. And now we are those people. We are the ones building new concentration camps. We're the ones locking people away even when they're citizens because we don't care to check. Right? That takes too much time. We have to be efficient. So we are the bad guys. Our country we have now become what we fought against 80 years ago.

Well, it is interesting because she's not an elected official. This is an appointed position. She famously shot the dog. She shot a goat. She shot horses and then felt the need to brag about it in her book. I mean, I question this woman's judgment on day-to-day operations, much less to be in charge of the largest police state organization that we now have in this country.

That's being funded to the tune of tens of billions of dollars more from the one big beautiful bill in this upcoming year. So it is now going to have more money funding it than most countries spend on their military and it's right here at home.
