Three major Epstein developments, all from the last few days.Ā Ā First: Just Security, drawing directly on DOJ documents, published a detailed timeline showing that five days after Jeffrey Epstein's 2019 arrest, federal authorities directed the NYPD's Special Victims Unit to stand down its own investigation. The SVU is the unit specifically trained for exactly the types of crimes at issue. The Manhattan DA had an active investigation too. Both were shut down. We now know how the federal investigation proceeded. It didn't.Ā Ā Second: The Telegraph is reporting that Epstein rented six storage units from 2003 to 2019, containing computers, hard drives, CDs, and photos from his island. When word came that raids were coming, associates moved and concealed the materials. Some hard drives were cloned. Copies are unaccounted for. Authorities never searched these units. Pam Bondi says all documents have been released. Three million pages remain in FBI vaults.Ā Ā Third: The 21-year-old shot at Mar-a-Lago after driving through the secure perimeter was Austin Tucker Martin ā a self-described Trump supporter, from a Trump-supporting family, who texted a coworker a week before he died: "Evil is real and unmistakable."
