as posted by the channelFormer Labour Health Secretary Alan Milburn has told Times Radio that the Government should put aside any "ideological objections" and recruit more doctors from outside the UK to getting waiting lists down. Speaking to Daisy McAndrew he said that he was concerned about the Health and Social care Bill which was "really about centralising control" and that to "run the NHS from an office in Whitehall, that really is a fool's errand". He added that "in that wonderful Nye Bevan phrase, that bedpans that are dropped in Tredegar, when they are reverberating in Whitehall, he really won't like the sound of it because he isn't responsible and can't be for how local NHS services are provided".
