He left his dream job at the BBC in 2021 and he's written a memoir called 'Soft Lad' - a collection of stories in which he talks about everything- from his happy childhood in Oldham to life at the very epicentre of dizzy London showbiz life.
His book is a canter through it all but it starts with a whole chapter where he describes his reluctance to actually believe he could write a book, and a lot of soul searching honesty about the fact that maybe he wouldn't manage it.
