3:21Now PlayingFormer congressman Barney Frank (D-MA4) joins former governor Howard Dean (D-VT) to talk about how to cut the military budget in favor of social spending at Netroots Nation. They suggest closing bases, reducing boots on the ground, and shuttering outdated weapons programs. The implication to me was a greater reliance on drones and CIA-intelligence-operations-based warfare. I ask them if they support the use of drones in order to achieve that reduction, which was a bit of a trick question on my part... The use of drones may seem cheaper in the short term, but the killing of innocent civilians tends to inspire new generations of terrorists and perpetuate the never-ending 'War on Terror.'
