When Israeli forces occupied the town of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon, thousands of miles away in Michigan, Danielle Elzayat thought to check on her house.

Dearborn and neighboring Dearborn Heights are home to the largest Lebanese-American population in the U.S.; many families trace their roots back to Bint Jbeil, and, like Elzayat, still own property there.

It became a daily ritual: Danielle Elzayat would pore over satellite images circulated by neighbors and family to find the house her father built—until one day, there was only rubble.

WSJ analyzes satellite imagery and on-the-ground video to show how dozens of homes owned by Americans have been destroyed by Israel forces since April.
