Dr. Ware argues that the Green Party isn't a "spoiler" but a necessary vehicle for the revolutionary "cocktail" of mutual aid, direct action, and electoral power. While California's open-primary system neutralizes some of the most common objections Democrats have toward third party candidates, I challenged him on the Greens' practical path to victory in California and across the country. We also discussed the bitterness between the independent left and the Democratic establishment and the perception that the Green Party is a largely White and middle-class entity. Ware argues that a "solidarity beyond identity" can unite working-class voters across the spectrum against the corporate-funded status quo.
