BNC legal expert Candace Kelley joined Start Your Day with Sharon Reed and Mike Hill to discuss what jury selection for the Derek Chauvin trial will look like.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the jury selection process and trial will look different and cameras will be allowed in the courtroom. Kelley says jury selection will be difficult because it will be hard to find someone who hasn’t seen the widely-circulated video of George Floyd’s death.
“It’s going to be a difficult process because who has not seen this recording? But, the key here is not who hasn’t seen it, but who can maybe have seen and decide on the evidence that is put in front of them,” she said.
She also said this would be a case like we have never seen before with heightened security protocols in place.
