Closing arguments in the trial of former Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin began Monday. While the prosecution argued that Chauvin's actions killed George Floyd, the defense urged the jury to be "intellectually honest" about the evidence presented to them.
BNC Chief Legal Correspondent Dr. Laura McNeal joined Marc Lamont Hill on "Black News Tonight to discuss closing arguments. When asked about the effectiveness of the prosecution's closing arguments, she said they took home the "championship ring" as they showed that Derek Chauvin showed no compassion.
Attorney Jerry Blackwell, who has been known for creating big wins for the prosecution, gave the rebuttal. McNeal said, "he was phenomenal." Although things look good for the prosecution, McNeal said there is a possibility for acquittal.
