7:44Now PlayingFormer Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all counts for the murder of George Floyd. Journalist and activist Shaun King joined "Making The Case with Yodit" to react to the verdict.
"My hope Yodit is that we've turned a corner," he said. Citing the death of a 15-year-old girl killed by police in Ohio, King said police brutality is not new and it isn't going anywhere.
He said for a diverse jury, with some conservatives, to convict Chauvin on all charges gives him hope.
"It's hard to really celebrate because the pain and trauma are still there," he said, acknowledging that George Floyd's family still have to live without him and deal with their grief.
